QUOTE(scsoo @ Jun 19 2019, 11:39 AM) Old method wiring non inverter mainly, indoor unit connected to main .. 3 wire.. then indoor unit connection to outside compressor.. same 3 wire to link up to supply power. You are correct, my contractor did trick provided 3 core cabling only skipped the earth wire. Do we really need to earthing wire?Inverter, indoor unit to main 3 wire for power. indoor unit connection to outside compressor for power same 3 wire. the additional wire needed for the inverter control as signal cable. that why in theory says 4 wire.. Shortcut most often use if 3 wire reusing old wire.. skip the earth wire and use the earth wire as inverter signal wire. Therefore Compressor running without earth back to main DB. QUOTE(niceguypenang @ Jun 24 2019, 11:26 AM) Reading for the specs for the following Seems you very concern on the power consumption by listing down the STA power rating. Go for R32 refrigerant model for more power saving, if not mistaken Panasonic's R32 1.0hp inverter model STA power consumption below 800kW. My Panasonic 1.5hp R32 inverter uses only 1094kW on STA tests.ME inverter - MSY-GJ10VA used around 1450kw per year (according to Suruhan Tenaga Malaysia ) Panasonic inverter - CS-S10TKH-1 used around 992kw per year (according to Suruhan Tenaga Malaysia ) MHI inverter - there is no information could found, tried to contact, no reply - first impression is not good. Indoor Unit ME inverter - MSY-GJ10VA - sound pressure level (high/low) ==> 21-36 Panasonic inverter - CS-S10TKH-1 - sound pressure level (high/low/q-lo) ==> 36/26/22 Outdoor Unit ME inverter - MSY-GJ10VA - sound pressure level ==> 47 Panasonic inverter - CS-S10TKH-1 - sound pressure level ==> 47 Now comparing between both ME inverter - MSY-GJ10VA vs Panasonic inverter - CS-S10TKH-1 ?? Which one will better ? This post has been edited by voscar: Jun 24 2019, 11:51 AM |

QUOTE(niceguypenang @ Jun 24 2019, 12:15 PM) Unfortunately Panasonic inverter - CS-S10TKH-1 is running on R410A. Yeah, what I meant is you try to go for R32 model, not those model you posted.Which model you are using for Panasonic 1.5hp R32 inverter uses only 1094kW? R32A is more expensive to service?? I'm using PU12VKH. Service cost? I usually just open the indoor unit and brush clean the fin myself. Outdoor unit just spray with those car wash detergent mixed. QUOTE(niceguypenang @ Jun 24 2019, 02:36 PM) I see. however those R32A noise reading level is higher than R410A, just wonder why. You believe those spec value? Previously my D brand spec compressor noise also similar to my old aircond spec dBA rating, once installed it was obvious day and night superb noisy. LolME don't have R32A. |

QUOTE(aurion @ Jul 2 2019, 09:16 AM) thanks.remote control looks similar to my basic model, with added nanoe-g function... would be great if the fan speed and swing indicator bigger so more convenient for elderly people, haha. |

You guys really dig too deep into star rating which IMO is just for decoration and to pleased small children. :-)
Look on the energy draw kWh which is the actual usage, the lower the better. My current R32 1.5hp inverter rated 1094kWh 5 stars. Of coz the older version 1.0hp inverter would be demoted to 4 stars if it's drawing 1000kWh in today's standard. Don't be surprised future 1.5hp would uses 750kWh and I would've no problem accepting my current AC demoted to 3 stars by that standard! This post has been edited by voscar: Jul 9 2019, 07:27 PM |

QUOTE(jetwash @ Jul 16 2019, 09:51 AM) Why the apparent lack of mention of York in this thread? Because old York = new Daikin.Really bad ah nowadays? Planning on getting a 2.5 HP York. You see how aggressive is old York Marketing Team doing which has now transferred to strong Daikin presence in Malaysia. |

QUOTE(Jason @ Sep 15 2019, 04:29 AM) My Panasonic 1.5hp inverter does the power saving job for my living room. It usually runs full compressor power 4.6A during initial start then gradually reduce the current till 3.5A during afternoon. At night sometime drops till 2.8A. Use less electricity compare to non-inverter 1hp.My electricity bill never exceeds RM100 since living room change to this inverter AC this year February. Previously some hot less rain months electricity bill could be RM130-150 This post has been edited by voscar: Sep 15 2019, 01:08 PM |

QUOTE(anthraxxxx @ Sep 15 2019, 01:11 PM) 16 x 14 sf, but there's no door blocking to my kitchen. If extend till my kitchen would be 16 x 24 sf.Interesting enough I have aquarium at kitchen area. When hot weather I would observe 31'c water temp, so I will use CPU fan blasting air towards, if AC turned on it would decreases till 29'c within 2 hours. Without AC on I blast air 4 hours also reduced till 30.5'c only. QUOTE(Jason @ Sep 15 2019, 01:31 PM) On and off everyday usage. I guess daily minimum 3 hours usage, hot season like now perhaps 5 hours. This post has been edited by voscar: Sep 15 2019, 02:20 PM |

QUOTE(anthraxxxx @ Sep 15 2019, 02:21 PM) Pretty similar to my living area. There is no door blocking my kitchen so the area is about 18 x 21 sf. Standard inverter PU12VKH.Which Panasonic model are you using? If you notice the peak cooling BTU, standard series is lesser than those higher end model although same 1.5hp. |

QUOTE(Sesshu @ Sep 15 2019, 06:34 PM) Lazada will be useful if you know what to buy. clamp meter. i route the live wire longer outside the switch box so i can measure the current if wanted.I went to a few electrical shops in USJ Taipan yesterday and saw few Daikin models there. However, when asked for recommendations, they suggested other brands instead e.g. Hisense, Midea and etc. |

QUOTE(anthraxxxx @ Sep 16 2019, 02:34 PM) Set the air throw to focus on the spot where you usually hang, example sofa area.If you want whole living room cold you would need to set lower temp (I set 25'c) to let the compressor full blast, that would equal to non-inverter power usage. Or use the AC for longer period (4 hour above) then would suffice to feel "cool" on the living room. I usually on then off after 1-2 hours, mostly use during meal time or watching movie. |

QUOTE(barca96 @ Sep 27 2019, 02:05 PM) Oh. I actually shortlisted the same AC as yours and coincidentally just yesterday the electrical shop owner told me not to go for Panasonic as it is noisy compared to Mitsubishi. He advised me to go for Mitsubishi instead for quieter sound and better warranty. If Panasonic consider noisy then what is Daikin then? Lol.Now I am having second thoughts on Panasonic. But I really like the shower cooling feature. Is it noisy without the rattling sound? |

QUOTE(layzieboy @ Oct 17 2019, 07:29 AM) i have that one. cooling performance isnt bad at all with high air flow. just that it needs frequent cleaning. The filter is flat and sits right on the top of the air con unlike most air conds where the filters are slanted and closer to the cooling fins. Due to that, I think dust just falls right in even when not in use. how much you bought this aircond? i've never seen it selling on the market. |

QUOTE(fun_feng @ Feb 27 2020, 11:22 PM) Hi, have anyone encounter water dripping sound in the air cond?? Is it Daikin? Used to have Daikin also noticed this dripping sound at silent midnight... Couldn't hear it during daytime or night time.No water will leak out... Outer part is dry, but the dripping sound will come on and off... It seems to happen at night only... I ask the serviceman come during day but nothing happens |
