Servicing proportional to usage...if your model has no clean mode, simulate it and set timer to auto off after certain time if yours is 24hr clock.

Guys I am planning to get a 1.0hp non-inverter aircond from Lazada. However there are too many brands available and I don't know which one is better in terms of quality. Can someone advise?

Also can someone recommend a good aircond installer as I believe the units purchased via Lazada does not include installation.

Thank you in advance.

Hi guys,

I've got an installer quoting me 2.2k for hacking and piping works (copper and drainage) for 3 units of inverter AC of the following:

Living Hall 3.0HP
Master Bedroom 1 (MB1) 1.5HP
Master Bedroom 2 (MB2) 1.0HP

Attached is a diagram flow of my house.

Is 2.2k reasonable...? Price excludes AC installations and patching up.

Are you in Klang valley? You may look for the aircon installation thread to compare. See this, this and this.

There's a ledge above the porch area....suggest using that to place all 3 compressors for ease of maintenance. Vertical height limit for 1.0/1.5hp no greater than 5-10m depending on model. That way there's no need to use L bracket but they have to use ground mounting blocks (proper term is risers) with dampening pads to prevent excessive vibration and prevent it from sitting directly on porch roof.

So long as the pipes are insulated as it sweats (cold condensation).

Why don't hide away the outdoor unit ontop inner side ? The MB1 location. But more inner.

That should make your house front cleaner look. Without that ugly outdoor unit.

The green rectangles are the outdoor unit... MB1 location is on rooftop concrete slab... Pardon the illustration, the outdoor unit is supposed to lean sideways blowing towards neighboring units so it should not face the front of house...

The MB2 and living outdoor unit will be noisy next to your room. If the left next wall is the room.

If possible , all outdoor unit fly up to the top. Same place as MB1.

It is MB2 room... Behind the 2 outdoor unit is the MB2 toilet..., in between them there's no window, and both units won't be turned on at the same time so I'm not too worried about noise... If all 3 outdoor units throw up the rooftop then they may need pumps to work...?

All compressors have pumps. Question is how much are their vertical limit spec and the pipe run length which in turn depends on the model. This was discussed before in an older AC thread in this post.

The main thing is how much work is required for maintenance. If it's all the way up there, ensure there is a tap which you can close from inside for rinsing. The other associated remote risk is exposure to lighting strike.

Where I initially suggested is ideal albeit the obvious eye sore for ease of reach during maintenance.

The compressor is a pump. A 3hp probably have a elevation max of 30m. What is the house height till the roof.

The 3hp outdoor unit alone is already noisy. But I guess once you go to sleep, the living room aircon will be off.

BTW, check the 3hp outdoor unit size can fit into that 2nd storey space.
