Getting involved in an arguement that is none of your business is like going down the street and grabbing a dog by the ears.

What translation you're using? The first one doesn't sounds like it.
Ecclesiastes 5:4 New International Version When you make a vow to God, do not delay to fulfill it. He has no pleasure in fools; fulfill your vow. New Living Translation When you make a promise to God, don't delay in following through, for God takes no pleasure in fools. Keep all the promises you make to him. English Standard Version When you vow a vow to God, do not delay paying it, for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay what you vow. New American Standard Bible When you make a vow to God, do not be late in paying it; for He takes no delight in fools. Pay what you vow! King James Bible When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Ecclesiastes 7:15 New International Version In this meaningless life of mine I have seen both of these: the righteous perishing in their righteousness, and the wicked living long in their wickedness. New Living Translation I have seen everything in this meaningless life, including the death of good young people and the long life of wicked people. English Standard Version In my vain life I have seen everything. There is a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man who prolongs his life in his evildoing. New American Standard Bible I have seen everything during my lifetime of futility; there is a righteous man who perishes in his righteousness and there is a wicked man who prolongs his life in his wickedness. King James Bible All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness. Proverbs 26:17 New International Version Like one who grabs a stray dog by the ears is someone who rushes into a quarrel not their own. New Living Translation Interfering in someone else's argument is as foolish as yanking a dog's ears. English Standard Version Whoever meddles in a quarrel not his own is like one who takes a passing dog by the ears. New American Standard Bible Like one who takes a dog by the ears Is he who passes by and meddles with strife not belonging to him. King James Bible He that passeth by, and meddleth with strife belonging not to him, is like one that taketh a dog by the ears. |

QUOTE(darkdevilrey @ Aug 14 2015, 11:09 PM) wow, this is interesting. Well, the original intent of that Bible is to cater to er ... poorer English speaker.mine is Good News Bible - Today's English Version, got it since year 2000 keep until now. so from your point of view, does it make any different ? i felt the meaning somehow deviate a little bit, from version to version. or because mine is Today's English Version, so the words is more easier to understand ? likewise in malay, isi tersurat, instead of isi tersirat. My humble opinion is to also get a more literal translation. One example where it is kinda scary for first read: Romans 8:3 What the Law could not do, because human nature was weak, God did. He condemned sin in human nature by sending his own Son, who came with a nature like our sinful nature, to do away with sin. Versus For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: At first read, you will think the Son has sinful nature like us. That will be terrible |

Renewal Lutheran Church
Dear All, I have been informed that renewal lutheran church is preaching grace messages, similar to new creation church. Both church related somehow to Joseph Prince. The church website is below, http://www.oasisofcare.org/ address in Petaling Jaya near templar street. If you know Naza car dealer in Lebuhraya persekutuan, then it's there. |
