It seem quite high fee either card or taobao credit card payment processor.

I bought item at taobao during 11nov.
Amount post date:13nov15
Mastercard exchange rate @13nov15:0.685808
Total amount (include shipping) in CNY yuan:CNY 50
total amount without border fee without card fee:
0.685808x50=MYR34.2904
total amount with border fee (0.8%) without card fee:
34.2904*1.008=MYR34.5607
amount appeared in mastercard:MYR36.01
So, card fee is MYR 1.4493 = 4.193% ??? (fee)
(1.4493*100/34.5607 which is 4.193%)
Anyone can confirm me how calculation is?

Ridiculous transaction fee using CIMB platinum rebate card??

I bought item at taobao during 11nov.
Amount post date:13nov15
Mastercard exchange rate @13nov15:0.685808
Total amount (include shipping) in CNY yuan:CNY 45
total amount without border fee without card fee:
0.685808x45=MYR30.86
total amount with border fee (0.8%) without card fee:
30.86*1.008=MYR31.1082
amount appeared in mastercard:MYR36.01
So, card fee is MYR 4.9017 = 15.7% ??? (fee)
(4.9017*100/31.1082which is 15.7% ???)
Anyone can confirm me how calculation is?

Normally bank fee only 1-5%, n cross border fee only applicable for payment via MYR but to foreign merchant.

TB charges transaction fee for foreign credit card, not sure what is the percentage. You can see the amount when you are making payment.

Remember to check next month for cash rebate.
Sometimes cimb does not give rebate for TB purchase.

I switched to uob vox.

i believe the discrepancy came from transaction date vs posting date. the amount you see is not final until it's posted.

For those who intend to apply CIMB Credit Card without hassle may choose go to KLCC CIMB Card Centre. They are located at Concourse level opp KFC. Why do I say hassle free as I have tried numerous methods but unable to get a positive result.

Apply online
This is a joke as nobody will respond to the application even you upload all the required documents. Nobody attend to the applicant, as I presume no commission as it is a direct app.

CIMB Telesales Dept @03-22036000
Application still not approved after a week and correspondence via phone and email yield the familiar phase 'Will try my best to follow up), but nothing happen. Suspect they are holding the application (for next month quota, presumably) as my visit to Card Centre, the officer told me that there is no such application in the system.

Advantages of Applying in Person
3 months salary slips not needed, instead only EPF (KWSP) statement needed which the machine to print is available at the branch , pretty much like the roadshow operandi.

The biggest advantage is the approval of the application only take less than 24 hours. My approval was approved in less than 3 hours even it was on Sunday as I have an existing CIMB Card.
Yes,they are open Mon to Sunday (every day) from 10am-5.30 pm on weekdays, Sat & Sun 10am-4.30pm. Disadvantage is that there are only free gift if you "remind" them and not that attractive compared to online

Just sharing info if some need to get the card fast especially if you want to enjoy the (10-15% card dependant) discount from Eraman duty free at KLIA airport.

Anyone knows if Jompay payments(TNB bills) qualified to get the cash rebate for CIMB Platinum Cash Rebate card?

If yes, qualified under online as 5%

or

Qualified under utilities as 2 %

I presumed No for both situation since paying TNB bill at UOBOnline earns only 0.2%

Painful lesson continued:

Booking hotel room with CIMB Cash Rebate through Agoda.

Saw the 'recent transaction' online with a cash rebate that works out to be 0.2% cash rebate for all Agoda transactions!!

0.2%!!!!!

I called up the CS and requested for MCC and was told all of them are 4722.
He continued and say that I should be getting 5%, therefore raising a case to investigate.
*
almost 2 weeks passed, CIMB called me back to say they have credited back the cash rebate for Agoda transactions.

so if you guys are using CIMB Cash Rebate for Agoda, please make sure you check your statement for cashback. Otherwise, it will be treated as 'Other Retail' of 0.2% CB.

I am interested. Do they open on weekends? What gifts?

Any type of cards to recommend for best cash-back.

Update the KLCC Card centre operations hours are 9.30-5.30 on Mon-Fri and 9.30-4.30 Sat & Sun. The timing shown on CIMB website is incorrect. I received a folding bag gift upon activation, if not for member here tinkle, the staff would have conveniently 'forgotten' on the free gift.
