True.. The future is already here.. Better compression, same or better quality and at half the current sizes on disks... What's not to love?.. The Neo U1 handles such files with ease. Since this is the HyppTV box thread, can't discuss such. Who knows, perhaps TM will introduce a more powerful Hypptv box in the future.

OK since nobody answered my question, whole morning i was searching and i found this by accident :-

How to access all your connecting storage (HDD, SD, SSD, NAS) to your hypptv on your mac / windows without ES explorer or Sambadroid

First you need to access android settings and not hypptv box settings. Easy way in kodi program





Immediately you see in Share > Samba Device



Tick start



It will immediately appears on your Mac finder as android_8dddbb, click that then you have all HDDs,SSD, SD cards NAS that are connected to your hypptv for easy control from your computer.

Have fun. That save a lot from installing sambadroid pro and rooting your device.

How To access your Mac from your Hyyptv is by using ES explorer installed in Hyptv


Open ES Explorer go to network and click the + sign below and choose SFTP



Find your Mac Ipv4 in system preferences and fill the form below with your id and pw



Tadaaa all your mac contents now accessible on your Hypptv's ES explorer

Guys, you don't need to hack or root the new HyppTV STB Huawei EC6108V8 as you can just sideload Android TV compatible APK files saved into a USB flash key/drive to be accessed via USB port available on the EC6108V8 unit. Somehow, my unit seems to allow me to install from unknown sources. The only thing you need to install from the Google Play Store to perform APK sideloading is a file manager (I use the lightweight IO File Manager from OpenIntents) to install the APK files (double-click on the APK file to perform install). I've managed to install the following sideloaded apps obtained from APKMirror or APKPure: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sideloading

You need to consider what apps are compatible with Android TV device like EC6108V8:
* You must try to search apps for "Android TV", not just "Android". The difference is obvious: Android TV doesn't support touch interface, it supports remote-control navigation and it is meant for 10-foot user interface design
* You shall only install apps that support ARM Cortex-A9 32-bit ABI architecture used in Hi3719C-V100 chipset of this device (armeabi or armeabi-v7a) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARM_Cortex-A9

* Be careful not to download Android or Android TV apps from dubious APK file repository sources on Internet to avoid malware and virus. APKMirror is considered a trusted third-party APK file repository site.

EC6108V8 does not have Google Cast Receiver feature, so you cannot "Google Cast" from your Android phone or Chrome browser's Google Cast extension from your desktop PC to your HyppTV STB. This STB also doesn't have Miracast support.

The obvious confusion between Google Cast and Miracast is because of the familiar term "screen mirroring" is used. Both technology mirror the screen of your phone/desktop/laptop device to your TV over a wireless connectivity (WIFI; WIFI-Direct for Miracast) but unlike Miracast, Google Cast can do more that just a screen mirroring; it can also do an app casting in the background while you are performing other task in the foreground.

For Google Cast to work it needs a sender and a receiver. The receiver is called Google Cast Receiver and it is a background service and it requires a screen display. Google Cast Receiver is only available on official Android TV platform. The sender is any Android app that has Google Cast SDK sender functions. Such apps are Google Cast app, Netflix, iflix.

Chromecast and Chromecast 2 are Google Cast hardware devices that runs Google Cast Receiver service.

Just tried it and still it didn't work.. T.T realised ur method works btr if using the default/build in browser. It does link w Iflix.. but I'm still stuck at the "Limits" page.. but thanks for the suggestion..

Anyway, I'll try again once i connect my STB w my active HYPPTV account.. At the moment, it is not connected to my active HYPPTV account which i suspect might be the reason.

I'll keep all updated.. else if there is another method, I'll gladly try. Tx all.

i got my new hypptv android box yesterday and tried to install app using google play.

but in the end got error RH-01. even youtube appear error.

after called unifi, they said they block google play and youtube for new device (new customer).

so, who can backup their system and send it to me to replace current os.

already test that solution last night. still cant. my goole play version is 4.5 latest version is 6+.

cant even update google play.

I am surprised with what TM Unifi is telling you that they have blocked Google Play Store and Youtube. I am still suspecting your device is not properly configured rather than the problem on the Google Play server since I can access Google Play and Youtube for Android TV (the latest one, not the one comes as stock with the device.)

Maybe try to configure your device to connect over WIFI in DHCP mode.

You can only access play store using wifi.

If you have latest version, then its ok. My friend also have update to latest version last year and no problem using it. I think tm block for the stock version.

Already connected to wifi. If cant connect to google service, it will state no internet connection. This one error rh-01. I see some of new user having this error as well.

Want to ask that does anyone having problem when connected the logitech k400 plus on the unifi stb after a while (roughly around 30mins - 1 hrs), it'll can't detect the keyboard until next restart?
And I found out that the usb connector were kinda hot too (used within 1 hrs), does anyone experience this kinds of problem before?

Anyone know why I am getting the error retrieving information from server in my play store? I tried clearing the data for the play store and rebooting but still broken. Is it blocked from TM now?
