QUOTE(hayelali @ Feb 3 2018, 06:46 PM) You mean u just download the apks and installed it? Just like that? Wow didn't expect it to work.I kinda like not having Google play store or play services. With regards to Youtube, I prefer the YouTube TV version as it's easier to use with the remote. The latest versions require at least Android 5.0+ unfortunately |

See.. This is why we should share solutions instead of being capitalist as*holes. Opens up a bigger playing field for sharing.
I'm also pondering whether to re-add google back on the box. My friend wants it but box feels "lighter" without it. Gonna need him to decide. @ffxmadman, kodi 16 / jarvis works on kitkat. @hayelali, did you install those as user or system apps? |

I just use the YouTube app on the smart TV instead.. Much better. Also, for kicks, tried a couple apps including ehem iptv. Figured I can save having to power on my main media box for simple viewing and use the STB instead. Since its plugged in and on standby most of the time anyway. However, the video output on my screen is quite bad compared to my other device. I guess it's okay for those with simpler needs and no better media box or with a simple no frills display/eyes.
A lighter and lean machine is better especially with its limited storage. |

They already know and a patch is being built.. For those with automatic updates still enabled, expect to receive a software update soon. |

Didn't know it was so simple.. No cables or hackery needed. I do have a proper media box for more demanding AV playback. But now, I can use this just for iptv purposes..Hypptv or otherwise with acceptable results. |

Tbh, I stopped using mine a long time ago since I already have a far superior main box. This one was done for a cheapskate fren who is adamant on using crappy tm hw. I don't even know if my own tm box has been updated or not. Lols.
As far as persistence goes, I like fixing problems so this was personally a good exercise at it. Looking forward to what tm tries next. Haha. |

Aside from hypptv I got on my fren's box ##iptv, terrarium, redbox, youtube and ftmc with a local build. Should have him covered for just about everything he needs. All that already feels like pushing the box too far really.I'd prolly do an sdcard storage swap for him later on to boost the meager 2gigs. He's prolly gonna bug me about it really soon too. Lols. |

Just that performance is so and so... If one has nothing better or haven't tasted better, then okay la.. QUOTE(KL_menJERIT @ Feb 4 2018, 01:43 PM) Should work cuz the drive is backward-compatible with USB 2.0 speeds.. Don't expect super 3.1 speeds here.. IMO, since the likes of SanDisk Extreme Go appeals to you. Can also afford a better android powered box. |
