Damn... Firstly, u connected via Ethernet cable to the primary router and appropriate port? How about getting them to send their qualified technician over. Those guys usually have more direct immediate contact to TM's tech support and can have things like password or port reset in minutes.. Plus, they have the authority (in case it bricks) to reset or re-flash the box if need be and setup properly from scratch. If all else fails, at least they bring a new STB and configure on the spot.
There's been another update?

yes, i am, i did that "please check your Ethernet cable connect to correct port" for every single call with them..

Happened to me yesterday but I was not aware my STB was updated. Screen format 16:9 was changed to 4:3 n resetting to 16:9 did not work. Funny thing is changed to HDMI1 from HDMI2 then back to 16:9 format.
*
Good idea.. so you change the tv to stb from hdmi1 to hdmi 2 right?? might give a try later..

Hmm, probably disabled or crippled.. you could try another paid VPN service. Personally, I don't use this STB for Kodi and even on the device where I do use Kodi, my needs do not require a VPN. So unfortunately, I can't tell which exact VPN service works on the STB.

Can't be helped then.. Get them to send a techie over and with a new STB.. Just in case current one is faulty.

You probably should especially for serious stable stuff. This STB is more for light usage. It's all good, you are welcome.

Just got myself the new IPTV box after upgraded to Unifi. But sadly, it no longer able to work using WIFI, only LAN. Is there a workaround to make it works? Thanks.

Do you mean Unifi TV streaming over wifi? The workarounds are as easy as your wallet. Try the following..
*Run a single ethernet cable from Router to STB location (Best recommendation for stability).. Or
*Get a compatible proven router (unaware of the specific models) and setup for WiFi... Or
*Get a decent pair of Powerline adapters and hope both nearest plug points are on the same electrical phase.

As far as I understand, the stb can work with wifi for other apps like browser or iflix for example. However, the Unifi tv app built-in will only work with the lan Ethernet connection. The Ethernet port must be connected to LAN4 of your router for that to work. This way, Unifi tv will not be using your bandwidth as it has a separate bandwidth. So technically, your internet speed will not deteriorate with while Unifi tv is on.

On the contrary, Unifi playtv (for mobile) will take up your bandwidth but it's not as clear as the in-built app in the STB.

Haven't tried with powerline adapters. Will give it a try, thanks.

The router was given by TM, Dlink DIR-850L.

Exactly. I've Astro at the same location. That's no use to have another TV box there. I was trying to move it to my room. Since there is no LAN point, I need to connect it through WIFI.

Having said that, since that they yet to terminate my Streamyx. I tried to move the old TV box (same band) to my room and surprisingly, it works with both LAN and WIFI. Sooner I updated to the new firmware, both boxes not working now (with WIFI). cry.gif tongue.gif

box when running on wifi is very slow.. possibly due to its 2.4Ghz limitation.
I stream video from box slow, always buffer... although I have a 50Mbps connection.

Any idea what else to do to improve wifi speed?

The box is very near enough to my router.

Probably depends on either the state of your home network or source of streaming.. Mine works okay on 2.4Ghz WiFi in the TV cabinet, less than a foot away from the TP-LINK router supplied by TM.

QUOTE(vontdeux @ Feb 10 2018, 12:09 PM)
guys, help
its been more than a month already,
calling TM 3 times already, they ask me to do the same thing over and over again..THEY SIMPLY DON'T KNOW HOW TO FUCKING FIX THEIR OWN SHIT
1. reboot router/modem/stb
2. reset password
3. went into setting > authentication > enter username password
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

i'm starting to feel like terminating this shitty service.

what ive tried :-
1. username + default 123456
2. username@iptv + default 123456
3. username@iptv + 3 fucking different password gave by TMshitTV like iaHD@B1239nad using a fucking remote control, because yeah, fuck customer who can use keyboard on STB right?
what haven't i tried :-
1. blow up the head of the developer who disable keyboard use on this fucking pin thing...
*
Try using username@tvos
pw 123456

Otherwise tell them below. Extract from TM installer guide. Particularly line no.3... Note the error number as well.

201008

Incorrect User ID or Installation
Password

1 . Key in the correct User ID or Installation
Password according to Confirmation Slip.

2. If persist create SR to reset Password

3. If persist contact HBC to recreate the User ID

You will need to create a separate wifi connection for the box bound to vlan 600. That's the one for iptv. Vlan 500 is for regular net surfing. This is why only some routers will work for the iptv and others won't. If cannot bind vlan 600 iptv svc dies.

Cannot simply change.
If got warranty, and if rosak then can call them.
They will send tech over to your place, check, change and setup the new box.

For my case, my old hypptv box rosak.
The tech came, replaced it, then said it cannot work with my old router, change router sekali for me FOC.. lucky laugh.gif

Since no more warranty, means more than 1 year already. If out of contract, you could terminate and apply a new registration, will come with new stuffs.
