Cant. They will replace mine with an updated box.

I thought there are ways to bypass or fix those updates?

You will have to revert back to the old firmware (downgrade) which is troublesome and run a risk of bricking your stb.

What apps do you have installed? One of em could be the culprit.

Guys,

I just downgraded my HyppTV box from the non-playstore to the playstore-enabled firmware. It had the default Youtube app with it.

However, I went and downloaded the original Youtube app in Play store and now I got 2 different Youtube apps. Question is, how do I remove the former Youtube app that comes with HyppTV?

I haven't dabbled as such and don't think you can if it's a system app. Check the Android settings (not box's custom settings) and see if you can uninstall it. At most, probably just disable it.

Hi guys

Sorry if this is out of discussion topic...

anyone owns or have tried TL-WPA4230P from TPLINK to watch hypptv using powerline?

TP-LINK TL-WPA4230P

1) it looks like 2015 product. Any advice if i plan to purchase this?

2) Can i share my port4 hypptv using the adapters wifi? is it possible?

3) Since it hase more than 1 port-out, can i share the dedicated port4?

Thank you

Hi All Sifu here, Newbie here im copy that below instruction on 1st page is that still valid to follow?

Jul 15 2015, 03:14 PM

The following is what I did, can work with any Android .APK files.

1. Download and install "ES File Explorer File Manager" from Google Play store.
2. Download and put .APK file into a Pendrive, or SD Card with PC.
3. Open "ES File Explorer File Manager", navigate to Pendrive's directory (SD Card/External drive).
4. Press "Enter" on the .APK to install.

I prefer install "ShaFa GuanJia" (沙发管家), it is a TV version of Google Play store, full of TV compatible apps.

P.S. Remember to enable "Install application from Unknown Source".

Yes.. the steps outlined are for installing apk files onto the device. You may want to ignore the ShaFa GuanJia part, if you do not need specific apps from that market. Can get most from apkmirror site.. Also, ES File Explorer is a crappy file manager now.. Full of ads and rubbish last I checked. So replace that with any other popular file manager of your choice.

A lot of the Chinese apps now are geo-blocked. You need VPN to work with the apps now.

I tested hypptv STB are not compatible with VPN apps because you can't unable "trust VPN" feature.

About the Chinese apps geo-blocked is real because I have another Himedia TV box that is running VPN with these Chinese apps. no problem.
