One of the strategy suggested here to fulfil 10 times of RM 50 transactions (grocery) is to purchase shopping vouchers of RM 50 for 10 times.

Have anyone seen before Aeon RM 50 Gift Voucher? Otherwise, for each RM 50 transactions,  2 RM 20 Gift Voucher and 1 RM 10 Gift Voucher have to be purchased.
*
what are your categories? Mobile + Grocery + Petrol/Utility?

if Petrol, manually set the pump amount to RM50. you definitely need to pump at least 5-6x in a month, right? if bigger car or always travelling, surely 7-8 times? ohmy.gif

if Utility, perhaps you chose this category cuz of high TNB (usually) bill? if around RM400-500, already covered 8-10x RM50 liao.

for Mobile, how much is ur average monthly bill? if u got the low plan, somewhere around 1x RM50 liao. if got the high/phone plan, surely about 2-3x RM50. also, you can help paying bills for your family members, if you dont mind sharing the cb blush.gif

now Grocery. this is when you plan your voucher purchases. if you know your average spending for the above categories, you only need to purchase between 2-5x RM50 voucher only. sweat.gif

not exactly based on you tenure year.

Wise launched in January 2013 (year 1).

those gotten year 2 AF waiver was in 2014. some not getting. 2014 could be the transition period where new policy/instruction set for AF waiver.

If your year 2 falls in 2015 (first applied in 2014, like in my case), strictly no more AF waiver given. Those applied earlier, will be year 3 in 2015 liao. also no more waiver given.

Thanks for your reply, cybpsych. I have not applied for WISE card, and am still considering whether to apply for the card or not. For sure, your information here, as well as inputs from other users here, is very helpful to me.

I use about RM 160 of petrol in a month, and my TNB is about RM 80 per month. By the look of it, petrol and utility are not suitable categories for me.

My mobile bill is about RM 135 per month. So, as you said, it is easy to get 2 times of RM 50 transactions.

The remaining 8 RM 50 transactions need to be from grocery and departmental, since I plan to choose these two categories.

___
1. I performed 10 times of RM 50 transactions. Later, I performed RM 20 (groceries) and RM 10 (departmental) transactions. Do I earn 10% cashback for the RM 20 and RM 10 transactions?

2. In another scenario, I first performed 5 times of RM 50 transactions. Then, I performed RM 20 (groceries) and RM 10 (departmental) transactions. A few days later, I performed another 5 times of RM 50 transactions. In this case, do I earn 10% cashback for the RM 20 and RM 10 transactions?

3. What is the best way to apply for this credit card? Online submission (such as leaving a message in HL Connect) or going to branch?

4. Can we choose any day as the statement date? Which day is the best day to be selected as the statement date?

5. I have a Hong Leong saving account. After activating this card, will this card be automatically be shown in HL Connect? And, I can pay the credit card bill in HL Connect, right?

Thanks to everyone for their inputs here. notworthy.gif

When I applied my wise card on 2014, the bank told me very very clear, the AF is not waivable. Don't waste your time to call after a year. If you want for a card with AF waivable, please choose other cards. The instruction is clear. I personally feel it is very good, by informing you upfront, At least we will never have false hope.

combination of Grocery and Departmental for you, no need to worry where u purchase the vouchers liao laugh.gif

1) yes for both RM 20 (groceries) and RM 10 (departmental) transactions. janji RM50 x 10 times is achieved (posted) within the same cashback calendar month.

2) same as above.

3) nearest branch, if you can. else, just apply online thru here from the main page of HLB Wise https://www.hlb.com.my/main/personal/cards/WISE-card . in my case, HLB agent called me next 2 days, guided me all the necessary documents to be submitted via email. then they'll call you again to confirm the application form and details (like an interview tongue.gif)

4) yes. last i checked, the dates are 1 2 3 4 5 7 11 16 17 19 20 22 23 25 26 29 30 31. usually, ppl set the statement date so that payment due date (PDD) is after your pay day. e.g. if your pay day = 30th, then set your statement to 11th (PDD = 11th + 20 days = 31st or 1st). this way, u got money first to pay your credit card bill.

5) i dont have hlb savings account. by right, should be linked together and shown in HL Connect. I gotten HLB Wise first, then HLB Mach. both cards showing in HL Connect.

I just have to share this. smile.gif

My Wise Gold was approved yesterday with a limit of RM 10k, the CL is pretty low but well that's not important I will not spend that much. laugh.gif Coincidentally it has the same CL as my MACH but the agent told me it is not the same limit but well. Never mind. Now both HLB and MACH give me the lowest limit among all my cards. laugh.gif

Anyway, that's not the point. Guess what, my submission was only done on last Friday and yesterday already approved. rclxms.gif Then, my agent contacted me this morning to inform me about this good news.

She even sent me a food storage box yesterday as sign up gift.

My application form was collected directly from my office via HLB dispatch as she needs original copy. I only need to submit a copy of NRIC and latest EPF statement. That's all. biggrin.gif

My card will arrive within a week to my office and if I didn't receive it by next Thursday, I will need to inform her.

I never had such a good experience applying a card and I must say this agent is really good. Her follow up is excellent. She has the so-called Go Pro camera as well and asked if I want to apply another additional card for it. I declined her offer and she never pushes it to me. Very good. If anyone wants a contact for HLB Wise, please PM me directly. I'll not share here openly.

This is just based on my personal experience. smile.gif

No. 3 as above based on my own experience, you can PM me and I earn nothing. Just that I feel a good service from agent needs to be appraised. smile.gif

No. 5, I have MACH before Wise and my Wise is automatically linked. I supposed your savings account as well.

Thanks, cybpsych and fruitie. thumbup.gif

It is good to know that WISE card is automatically linked in HL Connect.

As you all know, for Public Bank Visa Signature Card, you would need to call Customer Support to display the card in PBB Online, and to visit a branch to enable credit card payment via PBB Online. That is quite tedious. sad.gif

Must we charge wise card minimum RM50 x 10 first before we are entitled 10% cash back? Need to wait for the first RM50 x 10 posted first as some merchants late in posting the transactions. What if we swipe mobile bill less than RM50? Still entitle for 10% cash back rebate?

As long as in one month(not your statement date, follow calender month) u hit 10x RM50 transactions, all the eligible categories cashback will be included in your next bill (Max RM100 cap), Rm10 will also give you RM1 cashback! smile.gif

That's not a Go Pro. It's a Go Pro look alike only and it costs less than RM 300.

most likely no.

for Mobile category, the operator name is the determining factor. even if MCC under telecommunications, if operator name not appear on the description, the transaction won't be tagged.

it happened to me when I first try payment using umobile app. MCC is correct, the operator name is misssing. that's what HLB cs clarified.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Jul 8 2015, 09:22 AM)
verified NOT categorized as MOBILE.

user posted image

HLB confirmed the MCC is 4812, same as payment made via umobile self care. i guess for mobile category, MCC is not important, but the merchant name itself.
