For groceries,  just buy 10 x rm50 voucher and use that voucher for shopping.

Ramjade, are you suggesting that we should swipe the WISE card 10 times consecutively to buy the 10 x RM 50 shopping voucher?

Won't the cashier be angry, if we swipe the credit card 10 times? blink.gif

Thanks, Ramjade.

Why the cashier needs to be angry? I had tried swipe 5 times buying 5 pieces of Giant gift cards with RM50 each card. Automatically got 5x swipes....

It takes some time for the credit card terminal to seek approval, and to print out the charge slip. It is much faster to use cash to pay for it.

In your case, obviously you have the means to swipe RM 250 to your credit card at one go, but you choose to do it 5 times, to obtain the 10 % cashback.

If I were you, I would do the same thing as you. smile.gif

Well, not all cashiers will have the patience to wait for the charge slip to be printed out several times.

the example above is max spending (RM325/335) per category. you can mix around 3 categories to achieve RM985.

my Aug spent hit exactly RM985.05  sweat.gif

You all are brilliant and wise in getting maximum value from this WISE Card. That is awesome! notworthy.gif

Ok, I get the idea of swiping RM 985. What is the idea of spending an extra RM 0.05 ?

Is it possible to buy RM 50 Aeon shopping vouchers from Aeon Supermarket, using the WISE card? Is it under grocery category?

In my opinion, using the WISE card to buy the RM 50 Aeon shopping vouchers is more convenient than separating the groceries in RM 50 batches.

Yes, vouchers are bought from CS counter which are mostly categorised as dept store, except for a couple of Aeon outlets some of the fellow forumers mentioned is in Grocery.

Thanks for the answer. smile.gif

In my case, should I select departmental as the category for WISE card?

In my opinion, to purchase grocery, using the WISE card to buy the RM 50 Aeon shopping vouchers is more convenient than separating the groceries in RM 50 batches.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. smile.gif

for year 1, it's charge+waive together.

call cs to verify the year 1 af waiver.

Let me try to understand this.

Assume that I have activated the card on 22 September 2015. For the first year usage of the card (22 September 2015 to 21 September 2016), the annual fee will be charged in the next few days, but I can call Customer Support to waive the annual fee.

But, for the second year usage of the card (22 September 2016 to 21 September 2017), the annual fee will be charged, and cannot be waived by all means.

Is my understanding correct? hmm.gif

For some of us, the name embossed on the card is different from our real name.

In that case, what name should we type in 'Recipient Name"? Real name or the embossed name? I noticed that embossed name is always printed on the charge slips.

One of the strategy suggested here to fulfil 10 times of RM 50 transactions (grocery) is to purchase shopping vouchers of RM 50 for 10 times.

Have anyone seen before Aeon RM 50 Gift Voucher? Otherwise, for each RM 50 transactions, 2 RM 20 Gift Voucher and 1 RM 10 Gift Voucher have to be purchased.

what are your categories? Mobile + Grocery + Petrol/Utility?

if Petrol, manually set the pump amount to RM50. you definitely need to pump at least 5-6x in a month, right? if bigger car or always travelling, surely 7-8 times?  ohmy.gif

if Utility, perhaps you chose this category cuz of high TNB (usually) bill? if around RM400-500, already covered 8-10x RM50 liao.

for Mobile, how much is ur average monthly bill? if u got the low plan, somewhere around 1x RM50 liao. if got the high/phone plan, surely about 2-3x RM50. also, you can help paying bills for your family members, if you dont mind sharing the cb  blush.gif
now Grocery. this is when you plan your voucher purchases. if you know your average spending for the above categories, you only need to purchase between 2-5x RM50 voucher only.  sweat.gif

Thanks for your reply, cybpsych. I have not applied for WISE card, and am still considering whether to apply for the card or not. For sure, your information here, as well as inputs from other users here, is very helpful to me.

I use about RM 160 of petrol in a month, and my TNB is about RM 80 per month. By the look of it, petrol and utility are not suitable categories for me.

My mobile bill is about RM 135 per month. So, as you said, it is easy to get 2 times of RM 50 transactions.

The remaining 8 RM 50 transactions need to be from grocery and departmental, since I plan to choose these two categories.

___
1. I performed 10 times of RM 50 transactions. Later, I performed RM 20 (groceries) and RM 10 (departmental) transactions. Do I earn 10% cashback for the RM 20 and RM 10 transactions?

2. In another scenario, I first performed 5 times of RM 50 transactions. Then, I performed RM 20 (groceries) and RM 10 (departmental) transactions. A few days later, I performed another 5 times of RM 50 transactions. In this case, do I earn 10% cashback for the RM 20 and RM 10 transactions?

3. What is the best way to apply for this credit card? Online submission (such as leaving a message in HL Connect) or going to branch?

4. Can we choose any day as the statement date? Which day is the best day to be selected as the statement date?

5. I have a Hong Leong saving account. After activating this card, will this card be automatically be shown in HL Connect? And, I can pay the credit card bill in HL Connect, right?

Thanks to everyone for their inputs here. notworthy.gif

Thanks, cybpsych and fruitie. thumbup.gif

It is good to know that WISE card is automatically linked in HL Connect.

As you all know, for Public Bank Visa Signature Card, you would need to call Customer Support to display the card in PBB Online, and to visit a branch to enable credit card payment via PBB Online. That is quite tedious. sad.gif

For transactions performed at AEON Supermarket, we are entitled to 10 % cashback if we select grocery as our chosen category?
