QUOTE(binghb @ Nov 10 2016, 06:59 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Thanks for the link. I've not experienced curved ultrawide as well, but i've read somewhere as long as you sit right at the center, everything is fine. Dont know if the curved ones are worthy for the extra bucks compared to the normal ultrawide ones but in my opinion it's better to invest the extra bucks for a monitor with more resolutions, say 2560x1440 since you're doing coding and photoshop. And your eyes adapt to it quite quick ( for me few days and I forgot it's curved ) Advantages of curved was that when viewing object of far left/right, it's not awkward.

QUOTE(richard912 @ Nov 10 2016, 10:27 AM) Curve? What curve? The X34's curve is very subtle unlike the Z35's which is a bit more pronounced. Hahaha I was surprise how fast my eyes adjusted, given that 34" aim small. I only notice I'm using curved monitor when I stand up and look down from top

QUOTE(sos_tiram @ Nov 21 2016, 12:17 AM) Guys, I have a budget RM4K for the monitor but I'm in dilemma whether to choose Acer Predator XB271HU bmiprz or Predator X34A. This X34A is 100Hz (but Overclock) and XB271HU 144Hz. Is there any difference to our eyes 100hz vs 144hz? My graphic card is 1070 and my current monitor is 1080p only. Seems like overkill for 1070. Or any other monitor you can recommend? Mostly for gaming.. They said upgrade from 60 to 100 are worlds different but 100 to 144 not that much diff. Depends on whether you need that 144Hz or not, else 100Hz are more than enough, also X43A is ultrawide, browsing 2 webpage side by side and you can watch movie without any black bar now

QUOTE(sos_tiram @ Nov 21 2016, 02:22 PM) So 100 to 144Hz not much different correct. If that the case I may be able to top up abit for X34A From your signature, your graphic card is 1070. how it is perform when the X34A overclocked to 100hz? and how is the game performance with the resolution of 3440x1440p, do you need to adjust to medium settings? games like fallout 4, skyrim, witcher 3 and etc..sorry for asking lot of questions, i scared will regret buying this x34a, hehehe. Overclocked to 100Hz depends on monitor. I think X34A have much higher rate of success. For 1070 running 3440x1440, not too much issue, on higher demand game like Doom, cant max out but really close to max @ 82fps Found my old post in Doom as below. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...60&p=81142331I remember The Division had to drop till high or medium, likely bottleneck due to my old i5 2500K + 8GB ram

QUOTE(Vannus @ Nov 21 2016, 08:18 PM) Yes bro buy x34a if budget permit. But i would say gtx 1070 you can max out graphic settings in game but sacrifice framerates. Or you can achieve higher framerates but lower the settings. Depends on games too, if new games yes it will be impacted, but if old games no feel. But say later in future when you upgrade gpu, yes your monitor is still awesome. For your info, my gtx1080 on 2k reso settings everything max on forza horizon 3 and gears of war cannot even hit 144fps dont mention 165fps. Its just hovering around 80fps to 120fps. The only games im able to hit 165fps is league of legends and cs go But over 75fps are enough for most game, unless you're pro CS player I'm even satisfied with 60fps with G-sync

QUOTE(sohaikia96 @ Dec 4 2016, 04:18 PM) hi! x34 and pg348q which better??coz different rm1k expensive. and next year x34p got wst different From my understanding and feedback from research, both very similar except outlook, with Asus have much higher QC. X34A are revised version ( seems to have slightly higher QC ). X34P will have even higher QC with guaranteed 100Hz capability and swivel stand.

QUOTE(Red_k @ Dec 6 2016, 11:41 PM) but x34 cost rm1000 more than z35 QUOTE(sohaikia96 @ Dec 7 2016, 08:47 AM) but i saw many ppl take x34 Z35 with 1080P will be less 'sharp' due to lower dpi ( much lower than standard 24" 1080P ). X34 doesnt suffer ghosting issue like Z35, and it's fast enough ( 100Hz ) for most gamer.

QUOTE(sohaikia96 @ Dec 8 2016, 07:54 AM) im not sifu my friend use x34 he said once use it cant go back ad So true Can only go forward. I used to have a 23" Dell monitor as secondary beside X34A, but ultimately turn off after few weeks because I dont even need that 2nd display now, 2 chrome side by side are perfectly fine on ultrawide 1440P

QUOTE(kianweic @ Dec 9 2016, 06:25 PM) Is the curved version more productive as compared with the non-curved version? I think for large monitor like 34", because both far end of display will appear similar distance to middle, due to the curvature. I felt awkward when view non-curved 29" ultrawide monitor in store.

QUOTE(kianweic @ Dec 11 2016, 07:45 AM) Nice alternative, few spec need consideration. Using VA panel ( possible ghosting issue ), very curve ( compare to X34 ), no G-Sync ( depends on your card ), doesnt ship to Msia ( ebay link ). Sadly, weak ringgit make this look-cheap-in-USD monitor not so nice for us, already 3150 direct convert. I think even if you can find one that ship here, with shipping cost ( at least 100USD due to weight ), it's not far from X34A Msia X34 price are much lower compare to US pricing, reason I'm jumping in few months back.

QUOTE(kianweic @ Dec 11 2016, 11:41 AM) Acer Predator X34A definitely worth getting in Malaysia. It is the same price as the Asus version over here, which is like RM6,000 plus. I think RM6,000 would get me a very nice 4K TV for my living room setup. Will look around. Yeah, if not for high framerate gaming purpose and size suitable for computer desk, a larger 4K TV ( perhaps with HDR ) would worth the price. Since I stay in front of computer most of the time, watch TV shows online, browsing etc, I bite the bullet for it

QUOTE(kianweic @ Dec 11 2016, 01:32 PM) I would have gotten an ultrawide for a desk setup. I am now thinking maybe I should upgrade my office setup to a cheap ultrawide without freesync or G-sync. I think depends on whether you need seemless ultrawide, or dual monitor enough. For me dual mon enough, one main mon another Outlook. QUOTE(sohaikia96 @ Dec 11 2016, 02:50 PM) omg x34a upprice ad...rm4700 omg!!!!! But Acer official lazada page still RM4299.

QUOTE(silrave @ Dec 13 2016, 09:42 PM) haha i am using dell p2715q think to get one ultra wide monitor but seem like all are expensive mind i ask if the monitor got 100hz but without g-sync is it better? or get with g-sync mon After using G-sync and high speed monitor, I'll think G-sync are good investment, unless you're definitely not using nVidia in coming few years ( given monitors's typical life span at least few years ). From what I read/research before jump in, anything above 75Mhz are obvious improvement over standard 60Hz. What I didnt know until after got X34A, is that G-sync helps even at low framerate like 40fps, it's just not the same 40fps anymore
