Should I buy the Alienware AW3423DWF

I'm itchy and want it, but there's one problem: text fringing.

I doubt I'll be able to find a demo unit to test on, including the Samsung OLED G8 where both share similar screen.

The text fringing on my Asus Vivo OLED 15 is only visible when my face is directly against the screen.

They are not a problem in normal use.

I'm appreciated if any AW3423DWF or AW3423DW users can test and let me know if you can see text fringing when using the monitor at a distance of about 60cm.

Thanks.

Hi. I was on an IPS screen previously and recently bought a Samsung OLED G8 as my main screen. The distance between my eye position with my screen around 45cm. Using the monitor for my works, research, Netflix and some gaming. After using for 2 weeks, I felt that the text fringing is overblown by those youtuber and reviewer. I didn’t realize any difference compared to my previous IPS when I am using it for completing my work tasks. The only times that I felt the words a bit "greenish" is when I move my eyes to around 10cm from the screen. Overall, this is a very very good monitor. Done everything that I need, which I expected from a RM7k+ monitor. After works or gaming, 1 button at remote and on my Netflix for drama. Plus the built quality so solid, metal stand and frame. Looks better than the Alienware.

Edit: grammar

Currently the OLED G8 is on RM600 offer. The panel is matte or glossy?

hi all

just wondering if anyone has any experience with Neotez monitors, specifically the Aquila 34?

saw the product on Lazada recently

Neotez Aquila 34

seems like pretty good price for a 34 inch 1440p curved ultrawide monitor
Reviews on youtube is a bit lacking, and I've only come across a handful of local tech website reviews. is it advisable to get this, or better to stick to more well known brands? thanks

Normally, unknown brands have very few reviews, and it is a gamble, and you must take the gamble to find out if it is good or not.

Based on the price and the fact that this is a VA panel, it could have serious ghosting and black smearing issues, which will have a serious impact on gaming and give you a headache just looking at it.

The fringing issue was due to Windows no proper support of sub pixel alignment other than RGB.

If not wrong no issue on latest macOS as well.

LG 27" OLED is up for preorder Rm4497
Alienware AW3432DWF is Rm5800 if buy from Pcimage sarawak.

Hmm still undecided which model to go. If the LG one is glossy surface, sure take already.

Depends on whether you want 16:9 or 21:9 aspect ratio.

The Alienware AW3432DWF official is only RM 5,399.00
