Is it a good time to buy Alienware DWF model now? Itching to upgrade from Predator X34....

If you only use it for gaming, this is a great HDR monitor.

If you use a lot for productivity, current QD-OLED or LG OLED that not using standard RGB OLED will have purple fringing issue and the text is not clear and sharp.

I only game at home. Hah

Samsung OLED G8 is another option but seems like some of the function like Game Hub won't be available in MY.

They are totally same panel except Samsung OLED G8 came with Smart TV functions, not sure about the Game Hub.

Worth extra RM 1k++ or not, I can't judge as I will not buying OLED monitor yet. I wait for better version in future and hope fringing text get solve.

Now do have RGB OLED monitor from LG but that one cost RM 9k and only 60hz, if it is 120hz or higher, I will consider.

I think I'll just settle with Alienware DWF instead. Primarily will use it for gaming.

You test all option? Haha I haven't test.. When I bought I just turn off the light and see if got dead pixel or not..
But as usual got some light but not light bleed.. Some small inconsistance brighter area in edge of the monitor.. Guess it's normal..

BTW talking about distance I feel I am too close with monitor like 40 50cm for 34 curve..
60cm is quite comfort but my desk it too short in depth, no place to put my keyboard..

Thinking to buy a vesa mount.. My monitor weight less than 4kg without stand and 6kg with stand.. In market should I buy any vesa bracket mount as long it's support more than 4kg right?

I saw quite alot of mount it written up to 27 inch.. I not sure if this a restriction? I saw comment review section got one guy said can't fit 32 inch but I not sure what his reason or problem.
Cause my understanding as long our monitor weight is lesser than their product support eg they support 9kg and my monitor less than that.. Their product 75 - 100mm.. And mine its 100mm then it should be good to go rite? Do share if u guys bought any vesa mount for my similar case.. I find some brand like NB f80 or most of those bracket similar design and price around 70 80 bucks..

Before using Vesa mount, you need to ensure your desk is solid wood. Until now I not dare to use as my table is cheap table and not solid wood. whistling.gif

Yes I know about that. Haha my table abit sagging now and surveying table top currently.
Another option I buy the wall mount like mount TV but it's not so flexing like pc arm.

Anyone using mind to share experience and how much you guys bought?

Saw a few like NB brand or something all price around 80.. Some review box saw it write 22 to 27 inch.. I holding my horse currently, not sure if it able to mount my 34 inch..

I use NB H100 for my 32 and 34 inch monitor (1 per each ofc). rated for 2kg - 12 kg, 22 to 35 inch monitor. Just need to adjust the torque and can adjust your monitor angle very easily. bought during monthly online sale for around rm80~

As for protecting your tabletop surface, I just bought the steel/metal mount plate with eva pad (a set of top and bottom plate) that increase the surface area to mount the clamp (price around rm20~). My tabletop is not solid wood either, just regular generic computer desk tabletop. But I mounted the clamp with the metal plate on the desk metal frame underneath the table since not enough tabletop edge space underneath the table to clamp on. my table frame is those thick metal bar one and very sturdy, not banquet table type of frame lah.

Been using for a few months now with no issue or damages.

oh, eva pad is a type of sponge or foam pad that comes with the metal plate. as dampener/padding/cushion layer between the metal plate and the tabletop. This is what I bought (the larger one) - https://shopee.com.my/product/74226638/1014...97-1671951527.9

The original H100 seems better than F80 right? As it able to adjust the high with different structure.
Hmm i think i might not need the plate or i just find some extra similar item in my house to act as the plate, cause i getting new table top with 25mm thick.
I saw below is the cheapest cost over 110. The item FP1 add on we dont need it if our monitor have vesa support right?

If your monitor is VESA compatible, no need for the add on.

And yea, i went for NB H100 for its design and it's already stated it's for monitor up to 35 inch. might be due to the height clearance if you want to for example make the screen rotated vertically (portrait mode). I can make my 34 inch go portrait with good table surface clearance with H100 since it use vertical pole, but might not be able to with f80 since the height limit of the arm irregardless if it can support the weight or not.

Plus with the vertical pole design, i can utilize more space under the monitor and still be able to swivel it around without the arm knocking over stuff unlike the f80.

as for price, you may want to wait till 1.1 sale since it's just around the corner. I bought one for my bro during 12.12 sale on lazada for rm80 (with vouchers etc). From here - https://s.lazada.com.my/s.fm2px

You have F80? I bought F80 as i feel not going to spend so much.
Ya after reading i think the possibility of F80 cant rotate.
I don't really rotate my screen and i think i wont move it as well. I just want to save space, as the original stand i think eat up over 20cm of space.
i get F80 around 70ish inclusive delivery. Lazada now already in new year promo if not mistaken.
From my reading my screen 34 inch meaning around 80cm+ and the F80 i think height will be 5x cm - 60 cm.. once i get i will try and see if i able to rotate, but i dont really do that haha

Should I buy the Alienware AW3423DWF

I'm itchy and want it, but there's one problem: text fringing.

I doubt I'll be able to find a demo unit to test on, including the Samsung OLED G8 where both share similar screen.

The text fringing on my Asus Vivo OLED 15 is only visible when my face is directly against the screen.

They are not a problem in normal use.

I'm appreciated if any AW3423DWF or AW3423DW users can test and let me know if you can see text fringing when using the monitor at a distance of about 60cm.

Thanks.

good day everyone
would like to ask if anyone has experience with or is using LG 34WP500-B, does the monitor support PIP/PBP? can't find it on the specs at LG website, but I've read somewhere that Dual Controller function is similar to PBP, meaning it can display input from 2 HDMI simultaneously
Intended use case would be to do work on desktop PC while viewing android tvbox
Thank you

Normally LG did not came with PBP/PIP. This model I don't think it came with it and this model is not good and suggest you don't buy.

2560x1080 is too big for 34" as it is same as 1080p in 27".

27" and 34" is recommended in 3440x1440 resolution.

Dual Controller is a software that let you control 2 monitor using one keyboard and mouse and transfer the files in between easily. Before can use the Dual Controller, the monitor need to support PBP.

ah. i see. thanks for the input.
yeah i understand that, just that feels like weird that LG lists the 34WP500 as supporting Dual Controller, but never mentioned PIP/PBP
was mainly searching for FHD resolution because worried that my R9 380x may not be able to drive higher resolution smoothly even at 60Hz

Oh, for the R9 380x you should stick with 1080p then, remember if you only get 60fps in 1920x1080, you will get less more in 2560x1080.

I not sure recent year LG is largely implemented PBP / PIP or not, for my LG 34GN850 which release in year 2020 don't have also.

I not sure the Dual Controller can use two different monitor or not, it should be can. Also not sure LG limited to it own brand or not as well.
