Brand: Any would do but prefer much famous brands as they have much more dev support

Price: rm500-800 & rm1000-1300. really conflicted here.my xperia ZL just died. Was planning to change phone to whatever flagship that comes out next year but now seems have to change plan. So Im torn between buying a 'cheap' and 'decent' phone. Wanna hear your suggestions on this one.

Spec: ~5inch screen, decent camera, decent battery. I like flashing custom ROMS but only because the OEM was to slow/lazy to update the software (sony and samsung..  dry.gif ). So if the model is known to get good software support then Ok enough for me.

I think the most obvious choice here would be 1+1, but I would really appreciate it if you guys can give other suggestions. Want to explore my choices. If got flagship phone coming out end of this year-early next year worth waitng for, then I think I'll just buy any cheap phone for the time being.

Thank you!

Well u already have the answer.. U can have both cheap+flagship phone if u buy One Plus One.. No other phones could beat One plus one's price to spec ratio right now.. The closest one i think is Zenfone 2..

U want to flash custom rom with your device? samsung and LG smartphone are the easiest one..their flagship usually will have development for couple of years. sony usually got locked bootloader (can be opened with extra efforts) and HTC also like Sony if not mistaken..

Most chinese smartphones doesnt have large customer base, therefore less development.. I think only OPO, some famous Oppo and Xiaomi phones got lot developments..

Rite now, OPO is the best choice la.. But other suggestions are LG G3, Xperia Z2 (both AP set are below 1.3k)..

Zenfone 2 is ok la.. Got beast spec, but it is a new phone so of course there will be little (if any) development for it right now..

Haha.. Nope.. Never buy asus phone before..
Still running old nexus 4..

I mentioned zenfone 2 because it meets their requirements la..
There are a lot other chinese phone like Huawei, Acer, Oppo but since I dont really know their specs (and price) so i dont mention it..

But i agree with u.. Zenfone 2 battery is so so only... 3000mah for 5.5in full hd phone.. Mehh.. Also Asus is new to smarphone business so i dont think they already get a best recipe for battery optimization, so dont expect they will achieve good endurance with small battery..

P/s: guys, my suggestions will usually focus on phone with flagship specs (both high end and budget).. I dont really know midrangers like s5 mini htc one mini bla2.. For me these midranges are not worth it.. Rather shoot for budget flagship la..

Hi, may i know what are the criterias that made u choose Galaxy A7?
Is it because of the slimness and metal design? Because of dual sim/sd slot? Because it is samsung?
I can suggest only when i know what are your priorities..

Just bought myself a one plus one! let's see how does it fare later. biggrin.gif

Just being curious, how's the overall user experience for phones by huawei and Asus? Can anyone comment?
Does it get regular updates? Any famous models by them that had decent dev support previously?

Hey guys. Need some ecommendation so here goes :

1. Brand: Samsung. Tbh I'm open to suggestions.
2. Budget. Rm2k-3.2k max
3. Specs. Godly camera/sensor, 3gb+ ram, LTE, 5 inch+ screen size, expandable SD slot is a plus
4. What you need in the phone. Good for multitasking, top notch camera + video. Long lasting battery.

Currently I'm looking at s6, s6 edge, note 4 and note edge. Idk which to get as idk what's the difference between all those except for the, well edge screens? Also I'm open to suggestions/recommendations hopefully someone can clear up my options smile.gif

Well, in my honest opinion, the current best camera for android phone is the Note 4 hands down. Haven't play around with S6's camera yet. But reviewers are saying S6's camera is even better than Note 4. So either 1 of S6 or Note 4 would do you no wrong. Maybe u should consider factors like do you need a stylus. brows.gif

LG G4's camera is very gud too according to MKBHD's latest review. But then the price of G4 is sky high at 3k+. sweat.gif

If u want long lasting battery, better take Note 4/note edge la..
S6 got top notch specs but battery life will be beaten by note 4 and note edge..

Note 4/edge also got micro sd.. Already 32gb inside + microsd..

Or maybe LG G4? But i agree, the current price of G4 is ridiculous..

Get a xiaomi mi3 if u can find a new one..

Have good battery life, screen and camera as mi4i without overheat issue..

Got GPU as good as the one in zenfone (if not better) for gaming..

U got the best of both worlds..

Mi4i-overheat issue n cpu throttiling prob (read it in Mi4i thread)
Zenfine 2- (800 version got 720p screen only, avg camera and avg battery life)..

Secondhand unit u can get with 450 are galaxy S3, zenfone 5 high spec, zenfone 6, LG nexus 4.. Where to buy? U have to search n update all da time in mudah, lowyat etc..

New set: most are lenovo phones, there are many specs u can choose but in general it will be 1gb ram.. 8gb internal. With mediatek processor..

hi guys

need few recommendation from all of u for below:

1. Brand - Any but not China model (such as Huawei, Xiaomi, or etc.) because reason #4
2. Budget - around RM500-RM600
3. Specs - Any. 4G or LTE is not required. wasting battery life.
4. What you need in the phone - Good Camera, Reasonable Battery Life, Sturdy Design (not so fragile)

Currently putting an eye for Xperia C3, Zenfone 5 or Zenfone 2. but any other alternative?
