Brand: Any would do but prefer much famous brands as they have much more dev support Price: rm500-800 & rm1000-1300. really conflicted here.my xperia ZL just died. Was planning to change phone to whatever flagship that comes out next year but now seems have to change plan. So Im torn between buying a 'cheap' and 'decent' phone. Wanna hear your suggestions on this one. Spec: ~5inch screen, decent camera, decent battery. I like flashing custom ROMS but only because the OEM was to slow/lazy to update the software (sony and samsung.. ). So if the model is known to get good software support then Ok enough for me. I think the most obvious choice here would be 1+1, but I would really appreciate it if you guys can give other suggestions. Want to explore my choices. If got flagship phone coming out end of this year-early next year worth waitng for, then I think I'll just buy any cheap phone for the time being. Thank you!

QUOTE(Babet @ May 24 2015, 12:50 PM) Well u already have the answer.. U can have both cheap+flagship phone if u buy One Plus One.. No other phones could beat One plus one's price to spec ratio right now.. The closest one i think is Zenfone 2.. U want to flash custom rom with your device? samsung and LG smartphone are the easiest one..their flagship usually will have development for couple of years. sony usually got locked bootloader (can be opened with extra efforts) and HTC also like Sony if not mistaken.. Most chinese smartphones doesnt have large customer base, therefore less development.. I think only OPO, some famous Oppo and Xiaomi phones got lot developments.. Rite now, OPO is the best choice la.. But other suggestions are LG G3, Xperia Z2 (both AP set are below 1.3k).. Zenfone 2 is ok la.. Got beast spec, but it is a new phone so of course there will be little (if any) development for it right now.. Just bought myself a one plus one! let's see how does it fare later. Just being curious, how's the overall user experience for phones by huawei and Asus? Can anyone comment? Does it get regular updates? Any famous models by them that had decent dev support previously?

Hi guys, need a phone recommendation for my gf.
Brand: Prefer famous brand like Samsung, Asus, Lenovo, Sony than xiaomi, meizu, etc. Had a really bad experience with the Mi Note.
Budget: rm500-600
Preference: Smooth OS with decent camera and screen (5").
Thanks!

QUOTE(Alan Yee @ Jan 21 2016, 05:57 PM) Simple, Xiaomi Redmi Note 2, currently using this. Other brand, maybe you can consider Meizu M1 Note 32GB, or M2 Note. If strictly 5" screen, then Alcatel Flash 2, Meizu M2. If you don't care battery life, then ASUS Padfone S, 5", 16GB also worth the consideration. Hmm, I'd rather stay away from those brand right now. what about the asus zenfone 2 laser or lenovo a7000 plus? worth the money?
