Hey guys.. Looking for a phone that costs around 600..
It will be used for gaming and casual use..
The ones that are on my list are lenovo a7000+, p70 and redmi note 2.
From researching I found out roughly that the gpu on both lenovo models (Mali t760mp2) is better than the powervr g6200 on the redmi note 2..
Any comment from those who have used both? I've used redmi note 2 and the gaming and battery life are really not that great..

A7000+ also suffer a little framedrop when playing games. If you want smooth, you need to opt for 720p screen eg: Alcatel Flash 2.

How about lenovo p70? It's using a more powerful processor (cpu and gpu) compared to Alcatel flash 2 and also 5 inch screen with 720p display and 4000mah battery. It wins in almost all aspects except for camera, Android version and price..

The specs are good, can easily handle games but I dunno about the software part. It is an AP set right? Someone says it is quite buggy (but it was couple months ago). Maybe you can check video from YouTube first.

It's not.. U can find it on lenovo Malaysia site too. But Alcatel flash 2 price is like around 200 bucks cheaper with lazada discount.. Which make it quite attractive too..
Thanks for the advice anyways smile.gif

here is my research on those phones :
P70 Spec is quite nice ,but U its not a good idea to go for a not-popular Lenovo phones . lack of ROMs and some other minor details( check the opions on gsmarena on that phone . like serious heating problems overloaded RAM that makes the games and apps really slow and crash .then you have to change the ROM to new one ,but no one bothers to make a good one from officials . but they are some pretty decent ROMs for k3note .
K3Note is better option than A7000+ becuz as I know there are minor tech difference , so U can not install all K3Note ROMs on A7000+ ( Or u have to make some changes ) . the game handling is good on k3note but after few mins u are going to experience some fps drop ( as I saw in the reviews )
I guess the Redmi note 2 is still the best option . becuz there are so many good ROMs available .they are updating it every now and then . but yes ,battery life is average on Redmi note 2 . but its still same thing on K3note .they got minor heating issues aswell ,but since they are updating the ROM for redmi note 2 we can expect that it can be solved .( since they solved it on some developer packs )

1. Brand: Shortlisted to Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, Nexus 6p and LG V10
2. Budget: ~3k
3. Specs: At least 3GB RAM, with big internal storage if cannot expand external memory, must have LTE, 5.5" -5.7" screen size, fast charging is good to have.
4. What you need in the phone: Good battery life, good camera especially in indoor

I used to follow the mobile phones trend but these days I'm just too busy with my daily work and I don't have so much of time to do tweaking or even root my phone to make it work well. I just want it work out of the box.

I have been using Note II and then followed by Note 3 since its launched back in Sept 2013 until now. My Note 3 is still doing fine except for some minor lags which are still bearable for me. However, due to its age, I cannot deny it hardly holds battery charge as much as it used to last time. Obviously, the camera is also kinda sucky. Not in a rush to replace my phone but if there is a good phone I will not hesitate to change it.

I can still wait for 1-2 months if there are any upcoming good phones on the way. biggrin.gif

For now, I shortlist to these three phones, I welcome any better recommendations. smile.gif

Honor 7 and op2 pros and cons? Considering I don't do heavy gaming. Which means the weaker gpu of honor7 won't affect much And the overheating of op2 should not happen.

benny888 can give you thought on Nexus 6P and LG V10.

I am only getting my Xperia Z5 Premium next week - so no comments yet on this phone

Between the Nexus 6P and LG V10 - my choice is LG V10
Different users has different needs . So to decide which phone is "better" will solely depend on which phone features are important
I had never believe in any phone being the best
Simple summary between Nexus 6P and LG V10 - hope this will help forumer fruitie in her decision

Nexus 6P : Good for its fast firmware updates, very smooth phone, lots of roms flashability. Has best camera of all Nexus I had ever used ( except Nexus 5 which I had no experience at all). The camera can stand proudly amongst the Note 5, LG G4, V10 though personally I rate its camera still poorer vs them. Some people like its display ( Amoled) though it doesn't appeal to me as I had never like Amoled all this while. Phone performance and multi tasking is good though not excellent. USB OTG on this phone is slight tricky - it could easily detect both thumb drivs ( 64GB) and Sandisk dual thumb drives ( 64GB) BUT ES File explorer app, solid explorer app can only read the thumb drives BUT not the SD dual thumb drives. I needed to install a paid app USB OTG File explorer app to do this to be able to manage files between the SD dual thumb drives and the phone

LG V10 : Inits default UI, its smoothness loses to the Nexus 6P. But with Nova UI installed it can now easily match N6P.
Performance can easily match N6P even though it is a lower 808 chipset. USB OTG works flawlessly out of the box. The camera is obviously much superior vs N6P. Performance is quite similar to N6P. However I had faced a strange issue with MX Player Pro on the N6P - it always takes 5-6 sec to display the full list of my 20 GB video collection while it is close to instant on my LG V10 ( same set of files on ext SDCard)
The other advantages of the lG V10 are its removable battery cum ext sdcard support. Some users claim the secondary display as unique but I don't like it all and just a gimmick to me
Build quality I prefer the LG V10 as it is more masculine vs the more feminine N6P !! Design wise the N6P wins !
Battery wise ( based solely on 80% internet based usage with no gaming) : the N6P I could easily get 5-6 hours SOT vs 4-5 hours SOT on the LG V10. I had never bother to use any apps to tweak to assist battery usage. DOZE works fantastically well on the N6P with battery hardly drain even with phone standby on over several hours !!
