Currently holding a slowly lagging to death Note 3 so here I am asking now for advice:

1. Brand: As long as it's not Samsung, China Brand Phone (No offence Oneplus)

2. Budget: (New) Under RM2000/(Used) Under RM1500

3. Specs:
- 2/3 GB RAM
- 5 to 6 inch screen (Got too used to big screen phone)
- Lollipop with future update to Marshmallow
- MicroSD Card support
- Over 16GB Internal Storage
- LTE, NFC must
- Large Battery Capacity

4. What you need in the phone:
- Near pure stock android (if pure stock also ok)
- Can handle heavy use of browsing and media usage in a day
- Can be use over 2 years or so without performance hit (unlike ahem ahem Samsung ahem ahem)
- Doesn't get easily damaged by light knock
- Quick Charging, Wireless Charging, Waterproof can be optional

Also, since I'm changing phone, should I just sell my Note 3, swap if possible, trade in or just hands me down??

I guess that's all for now, would edit if necessary.

If you prefer pure Android, why don't just use custom rom on your phone? I believe there is a lot of good rom out there.

Only Nexus phone can get marshmallow at the moment. Maybe better wait a bit for nexus 5x and 6p to be officially launched.

at the end of the day, I still don't have much good feeling toward Intel SoC x86 for Android. whistling.gif
*
Performance wise, they are trying too hard to compete with high end cpu, but at the same time, they sacrifice battery life. Intel atom 3xxx is actually good cpu if they reduce clockspeed to 1.6-1.7ghz. More balance to performance/battery life.

brand: any
screen: more than 6 inch less than 7 inch
budget: less than 1k
Processor: 4 cores. no need 8 cores (do you need until 8 cores)
RAM: 2GB
Camera: at Least 12MP and acceptable quality at night
battery: 4000 and more
*
More than 6 inch is quite rare actually. I only know 2 models fit your criteria.. Lenovo Phab Plus and Huawei mediapad x1

QUOTE(junkyman @ Nov 27 2015, 09:24 AM)
Only Sony Xperia T2 Ultra can feed your requirement except the battery.

1gb ram and 8gb storage right?

they told me that they can update it to MY firmware for free ! the only issue is with the warranty I guess . are their Warranty good in satu ?
*
Based on luck I guess. I think that their warranty is limited to 3 months for hardware, 2 years for software only. Better check their warranty policy 1st.

QUOTE(noname115 @ Dec 3 2015, 08:07 PM)
Hey guys.. Looking for a phone that costs around 600..
It will be used for gaming and casual use..
The ones that are on my list are lenovo a7000+, p70 and redmi note 2.
From researching I found out roughly that the gpu on both lenovo models (Mali t760mp2) is better than the powervr g6200 on the redmi note 2..
Any comment from those who have used both? I've used redmi note 2 and the gaming and battery life are really not that great..
*
A7000+ also suffer a little framedrop when playing games. If you want smooth, you need to opt for 720p screen eg: Alcatel Flash 2.

How about lenovo p70? It's using a more powerful processor (cpu and gpu)  compared to Alcatel flash 2 and also 5 inch screen with 720p display and 4000mah battery. It wins in almost all aspects except for camera, Android version and price..
*
The specs are good, can easily handle games but I dunno about the software part. It is an AP set right? Someone says it is quite buggy (but it was couple months ago). Maybe you can check video from YouTube first.

ZUK Z1 is like OnePlus One with fingerprint scanner only. Problem is, the fingerprint scanner are closed source, so most CustomROM can't fully ultize it. So people might as well go for OnePlus One with more community support.
*
Plus dual sim, 4100mah battery, USB type-C. It is a good phone overall.

what's the current market price for redmi note 2? even with 3000mAh rating, battery life considered not good? fyi, previously I use zen5 (intel).
*
Rm 649 for official Malaysia set. Battery life is not that great, maybe slighly below average, but still better than zenfone 5.
