Anyone know that which oil and gas company have this simulation/modeling/optimization department?

I am a fresh to this industry, planning my future, so was wondering in Malaysia, where can I go in my future.

Aih company declared no increment this year. Anybody got increment this year? I am from one of the big oil and gas operator.

normal stuff bro. i also no increment, allowances cut to 0.

when the company renewed my contract, i got zero increment also.

but nasib baik gaji tak kena potong!

My company gave on average 3-5% increment to average staffs. The top technical staffs are getting around 10% increment.

I myself managed to get 12% increment this year. Syukur..

Apparently the chairman felt that the company need to reward the employees during bad turbulent times so the employees will remember the company during the good times. Is it a good move? Financially I don't think so but as a staff, hell yeah!!

I prefer to be ambitious to always compare with people which are better than my position to always advance. If keep comparing with people at a different standard it is hard to progress. Just like working in oil and gas cannot compare with people in semi con industry lol.

Anyway company still earning billions just lesser magnitude of billions. My salary only small percentage don't understand why still no increment.

Sorry bro. Most of the positions are mainly in inspection role instead of engineering.

Based on the market survey that been conducted, the hottest role in O&G right now are Plant Maintenance, Inspection (HSE/QAQC) & Management (Account & HR). Salary wise, it is not wise to jump ship now as management are not ready to offer a higher salary compared to existing package. The supply for other roles are more than demand therefore the term 'Employer is King' are in effect.

It's been close to two month since I've been given MSS and I still havent got any interview offer.

there's always a saying," companies dont need to look after their clients, just look after their staff and the staff in turn will take care of the clients". i think your chairman thinks the same way. happy workers = you giving the best and above imo.

True. I actually about to tender my resignation and join other industry. Suddenly when received this sort of increment, aiyaakkk... Sudah cair.. Haha..

Just a side thought, during high oil price lots of people leave and join competitor. Those people were labeled as not loyal, not grateful and money driven some blacklisted.

But now at low oil price, companies start to give out VSS or cut salary of loyal employees. This show these companies also do not protect their employees and money driven. It is like the proverb the pot calling the kettle black aih.

Heard from my seniors they always receive 2 months bonus every year until now, although not stated in agreement.

At the current climate just try other jobs first.

what are ur background? currently ansys caters customer such as technip. 2h, safetek, genesis, proeight in structural analysis using simulation..
