To the Admin of this thread,

Can you please amend the title of the thread to add a caution to the readers that one must take "supersound"'s postings like a pinch of salt.

It is common knowledge that 90% of his postings are BS and prejudiced against PETRONAS and bumis.

His post was very discouraging when I first read it, I thought I was a known fact in local O&G (regarding Petronas decides who to hire in Shell). Felt depressed and demotivated especially in hard time like this, until you guys clarify it.

But still, I think it's true to some extent, there are a lot of barriers in this industry, especially in our country.

When it come to contract award, sometimes the famous word "WAHYU" come into play...even heard from a friend that used to be one of the contract comittee said some of the companies are automatically pass the technical review without reviewing it and you CANNOT failed those companies...

Anyway, for a small fish like us nothing much can we do other than mind our own business...life has to go on...

P/s: fortunately we are preparing for one well campaign with pcsb (no in malaysia water), a good start though...

A reality fact is reality fact, only for those that living in denial will deny this fact just to make them feel happy.
Even Petronas's plant manager willing go to Middle East to become a shift supervisor where the post are lower but less stress and high pay.

The problem with you is that your "facts" are FICTION to others. You confused "facts" with OPINIONS.

And clearly you have a black agenda against Petronas and Malays in oil & gas. Your "facts" have no credibility.

And if ppl choose to live in denial, why should you care? You can't stand ppl not listening to you, that's your BIG problem.

Go bring your issues in RWI. Don't corrupt this thread with your irrelevant postings. You want to be a HERO, go post in RWI. There are many perasan bagus ppl like you in RWI.

Yup, indeed so, and this only happens to Lowyat forum, not on other places shakehead.gif
First time when I discussed this to other people, I thought only me feel like this negative, but after series of slashing and slaughtering on head counts, I also wish I'm wrong, but the fact says I'm never been wrong, what can I do?

6000 employees of shell currently for msia.

Part of them 1/3 (approx 2000) will be taken by petronas, as petronas and other operators (small) will take most of the assets from shell.

These 2000s might face retrenchment in a year to come as the operators are loaded wit their own ppl

The remaining 4000s shell employees, 1300 will be cut as announce by shell

Leaving 2700 shell survivors for the near future time being

Petronas... If they do cut, it is like nailing to the coffin

From what I hear, 1 mnc may close shop and shift operation to india...

And local ong co may get project due to the dwindling of oil supply already

Zeti already warn/advice us msians to learn how to do own business

We have to get ready. I know it is bad bleak news, but lets be prepared until oil recover...

Petronas is the caretaker of all o&g assets in Msia. It can never exit upstream activities in Msia. What Petronas may do is to shelve developments of marginal fields and brown fields assets handed over to them by Shell due to the current low oil price.

Shell doesnt exit upstream totally since it is still holding its interests in deep water development and production. It is inevitable that Shell will relinquish the fields upon expiry of the PSC to Petronas since the company is not geared to continue development of brown fields. Exxon closed down its Kerteh operation when its PM development had reached its peak.

What impact that you are expecting?
Upstream are basically over manpower, now they are doing the right thing nod.gif
Petronas won't reduce manpower despite over manpower, unless BN wants to hand over their power to Pakatan whistling.gif
Petronas will only cut manpower only when they are in MAS's situation.
