With the current state of the industry, how're things like on the training and development side in your companies ?
Do you still get to go for your regular planned courses or are they being cut down ?

At least you've done some training so far. One of my HR colleagues said I need to focus more on "on the job" learning 

Yeah I've seen some courses getting cancelled at the last minute due to participants, very irritating if you've made plans and got approvals already.
Next year maybe only online courses 
Mandatory training courses will have to be maintained la boss 

About projects, yes it's only the lower cost projects or critical ones going ahead.
But I just keep wondering how Shell is steaming ahead on the Arctic drilling thing

hi guys, is there any lady working at oil rig? i am girl and i am thinking to study petroleum engineering but i am worried after graduate i will be given a job that requires to work under sun all day. Do offshore engineers work under sun all day? Which degree is more suitable for oil and gas jobs? Chemical engineering or petroleum engineering? Which major do oil companies prefer? will studying petroleum engineering restrict career choices afterwards? can a petroleum engineer work in other industry other than oil and gas? btw, the other industry i mean is those industries that will let me utilize the knowledge i got from my degree not like banking or sales. any help is much appreciated. thank you
