the default of max tcp half open for utorrent is only 8 (u can change it at the Advanced, the section with the "warning", look for net.max_halfopen)

i always notice that in the peer list, the uTorrent user didnt have listening port
after the ip, the number is 'zero'
can explain why???
juz becoz they didnt know need to make listening port??

but i notice that, even they dun have any listening port
they also can download with normal speed
but i cant receive upload from them...

not sure wat is the real cause of tat though, but some bitcomet user that I connected to also showing port 0 blink.gif

in utorrent window there is no list of the listening port, only the host or ip...

I try download Death Note movie wif utorrent.
The speed is juz around 5 ~ 10 kbps.
Anyway to speed it up?
If I slow down the upload speed, will it increase the download speed?

limit your upload speed that can boost up your download only occur if your download is chock by upload
but your speed is too slow, it seen like not chock by upload
but 'chock' (throttle) by traffic shaping device

see is there any Malaysia IP in your peer list??
if not, then normal la tongue.gif

for 512kbps package u can try limit the upload speed to 16~20K, while for 1Mbps doubled the value

hye everyone, i'm using both (for testing) µTorrent 1.600 and BitComet 0.75, i must say, µTorrent much more faster than BitComet.while on BitComet i download same torrent file same size max i can get is like 100KBps while on µTorrent is almost double the speed!!! yes...you guys sure wonder why mine is blazing speed, it could be at local peers, but i'm sure with µTorrent, user can view the peer's IP flag...so my view is, very much like US flag tongue.gif but with max 15~25KBps

Before using a router, my torrent downloads at acceptable speeds.
After I've got my new computer and setting up a router for both my old and new ones, my torrent download speed decreased dramatically, on both computers. Download speeds rarely gets over 10kB/s and then the upload gets higher than the download and after a few hours all my torrents are red. I've figured out that the router is the problem so I search everywhere on the net for solutions but none prevailed. These are the portforwarding steps I took and please point my mistake out. I've turned of the Windows XP SP2 firewall and have no antivirus or other firewalls running (except for the router one, I turned it off and it's still the same).

How? Can anyone help me?

Just to clarify again, I'm using DSL305E modem and WBR-3406TX router.
