am fisrt time using p2p file sharing (after reading this website, of course ). just downloaded utorrent 1.6.1 (build 490) 2 days ago. having downloading speed problem now - downloading speed is 1.5kb/s and uploading speed is 1.2kb/s most of the time. appreciate it if you pros could provide me with a step by step guide as to how to increase the speed.

maybe is seed problem,hav u open the port,i also encounter this problem sometime but during nite,the speed will increase to 30 or more

try search for optimizing(setting) it thru google
its sometimes give a nice result

yup, i portforwarded but still have the yellow triangle at the bottom. wat should i do?

ok, will try that. for the purpose of clarification - keywords for search are "optimizing (setting) utorrent"?

just use "utorrent faster" at g0ogle
it will display bout speedup ur torrent client

My uTorrent Network shows OK (green icon) but all showing Red icon on all my torrents (Tracker error).

Anything I should check ?

Does it mean that the ISP is blocking access to the Tracker ?
It's very unlikely ALL the trackers are overloaded, right ?

portwarded and network now shows green icon, unchecked windows firewall, limited my upload speed to 22, enabled most of the setting at preference but the best download speed i can get is 5kb/s... (note: am using 1 mbps streamyx broadband with 1280/512)

Hi, i'm using utorrent 1.6 on my old rig windown 98
i've follow the instructions in the portforward.com and it can things nicely but with low speed sth
now i've bought a new rig and i'm using utorrent 1.6.1
i've done all the same setting on this rig too
however the problem is i cannot dl at all, the bt cannot connect to any seed at all, but the old rig still can dl thing
what is the problem? is there any new setting i need to do?

it depends also to your package,
and if u are using router,need to do port forward,

From 7am - 7 pm my speed is around 50kbps but from 10pm - 6am my speed is around 70 - 120kbps...........

i just found out that ip 60.48.xx.xx got really good speed.. up to 150-160kbps with max seeders.. but 128.xx.xx.xx gives me max 60kbps only

compare to mine, average around 8-10kbps only..
