I'm using a router and I don't need to set a static IP, only need to open a port in the router setting.

It depends on your ISP and your Internet Package.

If you paid for a static ip address, you will always get the same ip address from your ISP provider.

192.168.1.1 is your router IP address.

175.144.38.193 is the IP address given by your ISP, this is determined whether you have static or dynamic IP.

Here are the steps to determine do you have Dynamic or Static IP address:
1) Go to whatismyip.com, write down those numbers.
2) Off your Modem for 1 min, restart it.
3) Return to whatismyip.com, check the numbers again.
4) If its the same, you are most likely having Static IP address. If its different now, you are most likely having Dynamic IP address.
5) Repeat step 1-4 one week later to make sure.

Hope this helps smile.gif

don't think the dynamic ip is matter in port forwarding, unless you're hosting a website...

just access the router, and open the specific ports for the computers connected..

let's say, I want to open port 3128 for computer A [192.168.1.10], so in router port forwarding as in
- port: 3128
- server [or anything like virtual port/virtual server, etc]: 192.168.1.10
- save and reboot.

Done

the router already set to port forward certain port with no specific IP tide to it.

then, utorrent is set to same port for incoming connection.

one question , why we need to uncheck the box for "Enable upnp"
if we not do that, it means the port blocked or the connection for utorrent block ? usually when do port forward

use a broadband, when i use streamyx 512, my speed only around 50kb/s for about 5 minutes then suddenly 1-2kb/s average, really weird, i think tm block the torrent. Now i using celcom broadband, can achieve 250-300kb/s without problems nod.gif thumbup.gif
