Hi everyone, any idea when will we get 5.1 update for our phone?

Dev rom already 5.1.
Stable rom slow........nobody know when will got it, maybe tomorrow or maybe next month or so on
If cant wait....use dev rom......stable also [a few member here already using it]

I have been using a stock rom ever since I got it a few months ago. This is an AP phone brought from lazada. I notice the pre installed OS has a spyware or malware called SEARCH and is very annoying. Cannot remove it unless I root it. vIBEUI v2.5_1512...

I read in the forum we can upgrade to the latest version ? (Sorry still not familiar with the terms here).
I was trying to use Lenovo Smart assist. Downloaded the binary which was about 800Mb which transfered to my phone but after 6 hours it is still updating my phone. Something is not right.

Q1. Should I root it first before updating? I suspect the malware is preventing to update.
Q2. should I use the update directly through phone but I can not find the Update software menu. Not sure which link in Page 1 of this forum to search apk to install the apk. (Maybe I miss something?
Q3. Should I manually update it? And follow the update standard ROM link??

Sorry never done any rooting or install ROMs before. New bie here...

btw, sellers of used Lenovo K3 Note can PM me package, price and location, TQ.

Why bother to get a used unit when phone is so cheap already in its rm500+ range?

Use this rom for several days. Blazing fast. But battery performance not very good compare to carbon rom (s121 base, also from same dev, however carbon rom already removed as jiayu said it was based on his work and was published without permission).

Restore app use Titanium Backup. Restore rom use twrp backup.

I think it can be flashed to a7000+, but you need to flash the correct modem driver to make the cellular radio works.

haha, i use apk extractor to backup all apps and restore in 15minutes, when testing any rom.
