i got my phone today. i'm trying to flash it to row rom but it just won't start download to the phone with the tool. i followed the steps exactly, anything that i might miss out?

Try plug the usb cable to other usb port on your pc/laptop.

i did that too. still no luck...

Driver. Make sure u install the driver properly. Verify with adb command prompt.

yes, i think it's the driver. but how do i install it properly? i did restart my laptop after install though....

Do you also connect other phone to your lappy? If yes, try uninstalling the other fone driver using USBDVIEW app. Open the app as administrator, then uninstall the unneeded driver. Reboot. Then install lenovo driver. Reboot again. Normally it will solve the connection problem...

no luck still. i even uninstall the adb for my nexus 7. i hv been flashing roms for so many devices but this is a serious headache one.

can, device detected by typing adb devices in command prompt.
i gv up for today! managed to flash cwm n root but still can't get spflash to work...

Normally this is bcoz of wrong flashtool version...

i'm using the one posted in post #665. i try dl a newest one later.

You may want to try this step.

Download this (MTK_UsbDriver_autorun_1.0.14_internal.exe) from the link below (Lenovo driver)

Install this driver, then reboot.

1. After reboot, do the step on shutdown the phone until you feel vibrate.
2. Open the SP Flash tool and follow the earlier steps (then click download / CTRL + D)

Now plug in the phone, you will notice that it will detect the phone and install the driver, and the SP Flash tool will now detect the port and start the flashing process

Had that problem earlier when following the steps, and notice by doing this, the SP Flash Tool now detect the new port and it works.

Just make sure that you enable the debugging mode on the phone before shutting it down.

lenovousbdriver 1.0.13 can't work but this 1.0.14 works!

oh, ok. i'm using windows 8.1, lenovousbdriver 1.0.14, spflash tool v5.1504.
the steps are exactly in the tutorial, but the driver is newer, bcoz the old one won't work on my laptop.

is that ur spflash unable to detect your k3note, just charging battery only right?
