Your call Mr. Looi. In terms of past performance, Sharpe ratio and annualised volatility, AmBRIC kalah teruk compared to RHB OSK China India Fund. AmBRIC only outperformed RHB CIF this year.

RHB CIF is currently bleeding while AmBRIC is on an upward trend. The only advantage of AmBRIC is that it has a heavy exposure to Russia at 24.20%.

I am going to invest in AmBRIC. As usual, I will restrict it to not more than 5% of my portfolio with a short term to mid-term holding view.

P/S:  For even more excitement, you may consider investing in FSM Singapore. They have a 100% Russian equity fund.  biggrin.gif

I've also a small holding in Russia (just under 5% of portfolio, not through FSM) definitely a volatile one!

there is only 1 India focused fund in FSM.
others are (China-India), (China, India, Indonesia), (Brazil, Russia, India, China), (GEM) & etc.
Use the fund selector tool in the FSM to seek them out.

NOT too late to party..according to article in page# 11 post# 211
but just remember to get out of the party before it is over.... brows.gif

Good luck. Follow John Bogle's principle. If you are investing RM10k, please don't dump one lump sum into KGF. Break it into 4 or 5 equal monthly payments and invest via DCA into KGF.

If you are investing RM1K to RM2K, then it does not matter. thumbup.gif

hmm.gif "What if" the RM 10k is just like small change to those people like you and RM 1~2k is like a wheel of a Bull log cart to those people like me? same principal like the above applies too? tongue.gif

Eh, I dunno-lah bro.

I thought the minimum initial investment for KGF is RM1000. So, cannot DCA the RM1000 anymore and break it into another 4 equal payments. tongue.gif

P/S: If RM10K only equals RM1000 for some high value investors, then by all means, dump it one lump sum into KGF. rclxms.gif

I re-produce here the reply which I received from FSM today for your info.

Dear XXX,

Thanks for the email.

The fund invests in Asia region and focusing on China credits which normally is higher risk as compare to local credits. We believe the performance is the normal fluctuation for the fund as we did not receive any news on default bond paper.

We will monitor closely on any latest news and shall notify you if there is any updates on this fund.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need any assistance.

Thank you and have a pleasant day.

Subject: RE: RHB-OSK Asian Total Return Fund

Dear Sir/Madam,

I noticed that the NAV of the RHB-OSK Asian Total Return Fund in my portfolio has been declining steadily for the past 2 weeks. I fully understand that it has a risk rating of 4 and therefore the price may fluctuate.

I just wish to confirm from FSM that none of the debt or bond issuers under the said Fund has defaulted in payment.

Thank you.

Best regards,

XXX
