QUOTE(jutamind @ May 3 2015, 11:23 AM)
Guys,

I'm trying to move my records from v1.6 to v1.7.

While trying to copy a set of new fund to the placeholder line in v1.7 xls file (copy A17:P22 and insert copied cells to line 195), I get the error "The operation is not allowed. The operation is attempting to shift cells in a table in your worksheet".

Any idea why? I tried the same copy and insert in v1.6 and have no such issues...

When you copy from v1.6 file to v1.7; don't select A:P (example A17 to P22); but instead, only select A:I (example: A17 to I22)! As the rest of the columns are either contains formula; or are not available in v1.6 (example the GST column).

Also, never ever replace formula's in different spreadsheet as the formula's might have been updated, and overriding them will cause the spreadsheet to be using wrong / old formula. Always stick with the white columns (data entry columns) only.

January news, not updated lah...
Maybank recommended pek moh's CMS, with TP RM4.80. Last week its price was already 5.07 doh.gif
MIDF CEO recommended PRESBHD (which I already own), when its price was RM1.50. Last week it closed at RM2.50 sweat.gif
Aberdeen MD recommended AEON. I sold mine recently, as I was disappointed by its results. (I used the money to buy Ponzi 2.0 instead.)

Lee Sook Yee picked IFCA MSC hmm.gif

When you copy those cells, do you already have enough 'rows' (placeholders) equivalent to number of rows / data you are copying?

If yes, it shouldn't even pop up to shift cells because you are merely replacing the dummy data in new file, with figures in the old sheet.

President Vladimir Putin approved a new $100 billion reserve fund over the weekend that will specifically aid the BRICS nations: Brazil, Russia, India China and South Africa.
It's another step by the BRICS to build an alternative so they don't have to go to the United States or the International Monetary Fund for any financial help.
The reserve fund will help BRICS countries with cash problems. It will get most of its seed funding from China, which will contribute $41 billion. Russia, India and Brazil will put in $18 billion each, and South Africa will give $5 billion. The timing is critical as many emerging market nations and businesses are struggling to pay their debt for various reasons.

here is a good read for those that likes India...

India is looking like the success story of 2015.
India is world's fastest growing major economy. Can it last?

Last week, Moody's raised India's credit rating outlook -- a sign of a healthy economy.
Smithie says that corporate earnings growth in India is in the single-digit range this year, and is expected to hit the mid-teens next year. By comparison, America's corporate earnings growth is projected to decline this year.
"India is taking over the baton of leadership in emerging market and possibly global growth from China," he says. "There is the potential for an acceleration in growth in India whereas the rest of the world is still slowing down."

For those that are still thinking if it is too late to "ENTER"?
Too late to invest? The usual problem with growth stories is that it's usually too late join the party. But India hasn't peaked yet. In fact, it could be heading toward a multi-year bull market, experts say.

some things to wonder about for HIGH risk High returns....

Holders of perpetual notes with no set maturity face the island's first redemption options in September, when three companies including oil services firms Ezra Holdings Ltd. and Swiber Holdings Ltd. can choose to repay securities sold in 2012. While Ezra says it plans to pay off the notes and refinance, their yield has surged more than 200 basis points over the last year to 14.2 per cent, suggesting it may be costlier to replace them. Swiber faces the same test after saying it plans to redeem its bonds, which have added more than 230 basis points.

( hmm.gif if costlier to replace them,...then may not redeem?)

If any issuers choose not to pay in September, "there would be some discomfort among investors when they realize that what they've been holding is not necessarily going to be paid off at the time they expected," said Vishal Goenka, the Singapore-based head of local currency credit trading at Deutsche Bank. "There is nothing right or wrong, issuers have already told them from the beginning the option was there, but there would be some confusion."

polarbearz, i tried to copy from A3 to I11 and insert copied cells into line 23 (which should have more lines than the lines I'm copying from) and yet still get the error.

can you try it on your template file and see whether you got the error?

Your call Mr. Looi. In terms of past performance, Sharpe ratio and annualised volatility, AmBRIC kalah teruk compared to RHB OSK China India Fund. AmBRIC only outperformed RHB CIF this year.

RHB CIF is currently bleeding while AmBRIC is on an upward trend. The only advantage of AmBRIC is that it has a heavy exposure to Russia at 24.20%.

I am going to invest in AmBRIC. As usual, I will restrict it to not more than 5% of my portfolio with a short term to mid-term holding view.

P/S: For even more excitement, you may consider investing in FSM Singapore. They have a 100% Russian equity fund. biggrin.gif
