Yeah, but the pricing is rather steep since USD is blardy high right now....

Am looking at Beelink Mini now for a more reasonable solution  cry.gif

It was about RM320-330 for me. I am trying to avoid the non-Google Cast certified devices as my family uses Google Cast a whole lot. My current Chromecast 2 is doing alright but I want to upgrade to a proper set top box with a voice-enabled Google Search remote controller.

The Nvidia Shield TV is another option but it's very expensive. More than RM1K.

Google Cast really is da bomb - I can cast iFlix, Netflix, Spotify, Vimeo, Youtube, TED Talks to the TV easily and control playback using any device at home, galaxy tab, iphone, note 5 etc.

Recently discovered that with a PC running Chrome browser and the free VideoStream extension, I can even cast MKV files from my NAS drives and local hard drive to the TV, while controlling playback and selecting videos to play on my phone/tablet.

Oh well, can't always have the latest and greatest I guess. Chasing tech can be an expensive hobby ha ha.

Hi Guys,

I was thinking to get a MiBox but im not sure what to get. i would like:

1) Free latest Movies (CN/EN) with HD quality
2) Few Astro Channels (Live Sports & AOD)
3) Long durable system which is not heated up easily
4) User friendly
5) Come with WiFi if can.

Any MiBox model which support this?
or
Is there any other brand is equivalent to this?

That's a relief. I want the mibox with Google Android TV OS and Google cast support, not one that runs Xiaomi's own Android flavor.

Yeah, whats so different about this box and the International version? Same specs only. I suspect the artificial intelligence is the voice search depending on Google voice. But isn't Google Apps banned in China? Hmm.

Not sure what they referring to, in terms of AI. Perhaps some search engine in China.
From what I know, Google is working on an independent platform only for China market. Maybe it will happen, but not sure as of now.

Anyway, will still wait for a while before getting the US version as an upgrade to my Nexus Player.

Yeah of course, Google play and Android TV 7.0.
For me it would be an upgrade to 4K capable player which my Nexus Player is not able to do.

I just bought Mibox 3 Enhanced Edition last week, but I will try to help.

1) Yes, you can use Kodi to install addons such as Exodus and Icdrama to watch English, Korean, Chinese movies. However, I have seen some previous users complaint about the lack of storage of Mibox, causing Kodi some problems. I am not sure of what problems.

2) You can find sellers who provide subscription services, such as HDTV.

3) I have only used the box for 1 week but I think it should not overheat easily.

4) As long as you can read chinese, that shouldn't be a problem.

5) Mibox 3 Enhanced Edition connects to Wifi, in fact, it doesn't have ethernet port so you need to purchase an USB to Enternet adapter (should cost about RM35) if you want to use LAN cable.

Any experienced users kindly addon/correct if anything I said is wrong sweat.gif

I am surprised when I found out the power plug is China one which is not compatible with Malaysia power socket.

Make sure you have an adapter ready.
Lack of ethernet port.
Insufficient storage. (Not sure what problem will it cause though)

Those getting the international version, worry not. Its basically the same box.

"Additionally, Mi Box 3s is also compatible with HDR content. Xiaomi has implemented an AI based PatchWall Interface to improve the content suggestions. The PatchWall Interface will track and analyze your viewing habits and improves the recommendations, so the more you use it, the better suggestions you will encounter."
