I think the package all similar to other Mi TV Box. I manage to change the language to English (some still in Chinese) and install You Tube and Kodi.

I really need some advise.
How to set the latest Mi Box(bought from official Xiaomi Lazada store) to output PCM 5.1 sound?

I had the Mi Box connected to my all-in-one home cinema system from Sony(BDV-N9200W), had Kodi and spmc install(downloaded from google play store), and trying to make both app decode 5.1 surround sound to PCM 5.1.

The season why I am not using passthought, is because my Sony all-in-one system don't decode surround sound coming from HDMI in.

I am pretty sure the Sony all-in-one system can recognize PCM 5.1, as I tried on my PS4 sound output setting.

it recognize LPCM/PCM, but NOT bitstream/Passtthought from HDMI in.

So, I try to make to Kodi/SPMC code the 5.1 sound fist and send LPCM 5.1 to Sony all-in-one system, but Mi Box always output LPCM 2.0 only.

Quick question. Planning to buy a mibox
Primary use... connect to an external portable 1tb usb hdd to play rmvb files. Any issues as the hdd is the portable kind without saperate power source.

No issues here playing mkv files on a portable 2.5 inch 1TB hard drive.

Not sure about rmvb though, it's been more than 5 years since I've played anything in that format.

Anyone owned a china mibox & manage to reflash it to the global english OS?

How to shutdown mi box completely?

Saw only got 2 options suspend/resume and shutdown in the settings. But when use shutdown it just prompt reboot option.

Switch off at the power panel on your wall, I guess.

I turn it off completely by turning off at the powerpoint.

You can sideload myiptv apk into your box. Iflix is downloadable from Playstore.

Iflix is available for Android TV just recently.

For those of you who can get Astrx on the go to work, did u have to call their cust service to get it to work? I have it registered to run on my phone and mibox but it refuses to run for some reason. Stopped working after their feb update.

Using Astro go now, so far entitle two problem,
First is force close with leanback keyboard
Second is blank screen with Google pinyin keyboard

Finally I found out what was causing the error for me. My vpn settings in the router. Aiya, for almost 4 months I tot it was AOG new app version. Now works properly.
