hi guys, i'm super noob on these mi box thing. Quick question, is it worth to buy to stream some HK drama/movies?

I'm planning to buy a 40 inch TV that have USB so I can copy movies into thumbdrive and plug & play.

Or will a mi box be more convenient?

Also, my streamyx only 4mbps/1mbps. Is it fast enough to stream HD?

New Mibox international use here, really satisfied with it. With that price, it is the best box we can get even compared to more higher price point.

any idea how to configure the landing page of xiaomi tvbox?

Since most of the default drama by xiaomi can stream, I alway rely on the 3rd party app. Just tot to add those app shortcut on the first page.

Easy way is to install this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...dlauncher&hl=en its not actually a launcher, just an app drawer. It will create 1 icon/shortcut on homepage. Click and you'll see all installed apps included the sideloaded one.

Using USB 3.0 Hub with 64USB Flash Drive and 120mm fan.
I think mibox do not have the power to support the fan.
Occasionally shutdown and wi-fi disconnect (daily stream 12 hours live tv)
So used 5V dc supply to parallel support the fan and usb hub.

The remote control for official Malaysia mibox uses bluetooth, not infra-red.

thanks for the clarification.Frankly, initially i thought it is infra-red,that is why there is an opening on the rack.

You can even control the Mibox without pointing the remote at it.

Walaowei! Mi Box on steroids. Why does yours get so hot that it needs that sort of extreme cooling method.

I try to help here
My advise-is the same as always.
If you only watch HK drama and movies.
It is better to download and watch
real hd rather than a media box.(video source a real factors and broadband speed and stability-4mbps maybe a problem).

For long term-
1-build a low power/cheap pc
(Using a 6 years old-Intel BOXD510MO CPU combo-no longer available, but to gave you some idea)
(do not need a big drive in C-60g.And external drive-1 or 2 TB)
2-Get a good seedbox provider-200gb-RM25.00-30 p/month(depend on RM exchange rate)
3-Get a VPN Provider-RM11.00.(depend on RM exchange rate)
4-get a mid level UHDTV-since you are getting one.(6000 series is good enough)

with these you can watch your movies without interruption and in real HD.
this is my personal view-after so many years with media box.

hey guys... just gotten a Mibox 3c (china version) and I have a problem..

The box was installed with many apps and it was in a folder and I saw this when i first switched it on but not long after they asked me to update the system and I did..

after the reboot to MIUI TV Version 1.5.1 (Stable), I can no longer see the folder the apps was stored in..

anyone know how can I find it back again or everything has been deleted after the reboot?

Also it is running on some Galaxy Internet TV OS now..

I'm torn between mi box and beelink mini mxiii ii. The hardware specs are basically the same accept the mi box only has 8gb ROM. The price difference is about RM100. I mainly be using for Kodi, Youtube, play movies from external drive and light gaming. Both have good support and can get OTA update. Build quality I think both are reputable brand. So it boils down to whether the android TV 6.0 user experience going to be worth it or not. I really appreciate some input from those who had experience both types of box. thanks in advance
