all good.you can cast anyway.for my case,my nexus7 2013,I can see the chromecast icon on the top right.
if you use a chromecast before you will understand.no big deal.

something to share with fellow mibox3 buyers in this forum.Google Home works with mibox3.If you tell Goggle Home:"OK google,play Logan trailer on my tv.It will cast to your tv.I have later try on my movie collection store on my synology DS216+.

What is the prerequisites for Google Home to do so with ur Mi Box? Both devices must connected to the same network? Both must using the same Google account?

yes same network(wi-fi only)because Google Home is wi-fi only,same google account and mibox3 international version(not sure of other mibox3 version,maybe someone try will let us know)

those with Mi Box international/Malaysia version, do you have problem controlling using Google's own Android TV app (it's a remote control app for Android TV)? I don't have problem with my Nexus Player but with the Mi Box, I can't seem to connect on either iOS or Android even though it detects the Mi Box. The error shown is "Failed to connect"

What if different google account? If other Google user in the same network trying to play something on the #mibox?
I think it either tied to same network like how Chromecast practice or same Google account (even in different network) right?

No issue from my end as well, connected to my Mibox using the Android TV app.
Both my Nexus player and Mibox also no problem connecting to the remote control app.

sorry,if caused some confusion.It is about voice command from google Home device to mibox3.MDZ-16-AB allowed only 1 google account.do not know about other mibox3 version.
Google voice command on Google Home Device do not work if gmail account not the same on both.Google Home is a standalone Device.

One more thing, you can saved USD35 because only MDZ-16-AB mibox3 has the free chromecast ultra built-in without purchasing separately .hope this help.

Sorry, just to clarify. Does the TV box need to install the Google's Android TV app too? Or just need to install on my phone?

My Mibox shows the logo (ICNTV), screen goes blank, shows the log, screen goes blank, etc.

Nope, you just need to install the app to your phone / tablet and pair it with your Android TV Box.

Hi, anyone tested the TED Tv app with mibox3 Malaysia version? Was told the mibox3 US version having some issues to play video from the TED TV app.

long time never watch hk drama on my mibox and just recently when I have the mood to watch it again, all the apps that i used to watch no longer working anymore which include - mangotv, CIBN*(unsure whats the new name, used to be VST), even 电视猫(TV Cat) also not working..

is there any new apps available for me to watch my fav HK drama like last time? many thanks in advance.
