Do I need to activate the celcom wifi manually ? Tq

I tested today at Taman Putra Ampang, Celcom can get around 30+Mbps while Maxis only get around 5+Mbps...

I'm on Maxis One Plan 128 some more...

faster go change

successfully ported both my numbers to celcom first basic 38. happy now.

1. Use online livechat with maxis, ask them to change my supp line plan to any main line plan.
2. Go to celcom center. Say wanna port 2 numbers to them. Fill in form, Give them IC to photostate.
3. They hand me 2 new sim card. And say wait for SMS. Zero payment required.
4. Receive a call from maxis. Offer free phone. Zzz. Just reject say no.
5. Waited until suddenly maxis got no line. Cant be used anymore. Insert celcom sim. Successfully ported. No wander.

All settle within a day. And it's on a Saturday. Everything good so far.

Just wondering why need to change the supp line into main line before MNP?

Cause they will reject if only port out supp line

celcom inform me that rejected cases happen or supp line from other telco cannot take this first basic 38 package.
so the only way is to become a main line first before porting to them.

What's the average porting time to basic 38? Register this morning from digi prepaid, until now still not yet complete.

After complete porting, can straight use? No need do any setting on phone? Even for lte?

I recommend you to downlaod internet setting, if your phone doesn't prompt your to download by auto when your insert new sim.

Where to download? And what setting to download?

actually how the 'wifi' data allocation works ? Meaning I will still need to switch 'ON' my WiFi all time searching for the 'wifi' signal wherever I go ?

How good and wide is the Celcom coverage ?

It's not wide. Usually available at their service centres,dealers,shopping complexes,airports and some common facilities like rnr n hospitals. U will need to connect to their Wifi and key in your username and password.

for android phone, go to setting>more>internet settings

Already using this. Tested on note3 n moto E n note2. Can 4G but only while under open sky some places in subang jaya or usj or puchong.
Problem is it is on 3g at all places and only auto switching to H+ some of the time.
other small player like u on h+ all the time and switching to 4g some of the time. My green line same like u

i'm at damansara jaya. just ported over. 3g connectivity is really really poor. keeps alternating between 3g and H+

I suspect celcom designed their network where idle connection is on 3g and data transfer is on hsdpa.

guys wanna ask here,im planning to change my plan to basic 38 but when i go to celcom xclusive festival city they said that owner of the simcard which is my father need to come there only then they will change the plan,if not they will not bother about it..any of you know the place that i can change it without to bring my father together there as i dunt want to "susah" kan my father to come there just want to change the plan..thank you in advance

If your line ia a supplementary of your father's you have no choice. Musr bring him or ask your father to change your line to a main line

after changing to main line also, the number is under your father's account. so still need to bring the account holder along.

unless after changing to main line, you proceed to seperate the account. put the number under your name. so you can do whatever you want with your number your account after that.
