Use tap to run in the tuya app, and it will show up in scenes (assuming you already setup tuya integration)

Can you open up your remote? Curious the chip inside
Bought a few ir remote and they all got cbu chip (had to swap with esp for tasmota)

I have one wiring for the porch lamp pre-installed by the developer.I planned to install 2 porch lamp by tapping to the pre-installed wiring. The problem is i want to control the ON/OFF of the lamp individually and the porch ceiling is made of concrete. The wiring guy said hard to pull wire for the switch for another lamp as it was concrete. So i planned to install wireless switch to control the lamp. What are the options to make this feature?
*
Get smart light for both porch lights
Turn on the main switch, cover with wireless scene switch to toggle the lights individually

I dont get you.Do you have any examples or pictures?
*
Basically you keep the switch permanently on, put a cover on the main switch and add wireless scene switch on top of it.
Just so no one else mess with it

Another way is using decoupled/detached mode on aqara e1/h1

The one in the picture looks nice. Can we achive the same with Sonoff switches?
I just need wireless switch that works in all mode(Wifi+BT+RF) just in case one mode fails.
*
You already got sonoff hardware now?
Switch, lights

Nop.Planning to buy

I’ve already done similar thing for my wall switch & wifi bulbs.
Slightly advanced trick, but no need to lock the switch or anything
What’s great is just relies on wifi, if your smart hub down (it does happen), it still works as normal

Do you plan to get downlights or just bubs

But idk which brand could support. Is there anyway to check before buying?
*
If it's tuya/smartlife then it's confirmed
Also, don't get wifi locks, get the ones using bt/zigbee, you can remotely unlock with ease.
The wifi version needs physical input keypad (someone has to press the key first) that sends an unlock request to the app, then you approve the unlock request.

Looks like aqara fp2 can finally ignore interference by fans.

Hopefully other mmwave sensors can introduce same feature later

Hi, I am renovating my new house and I figured to have at least 1 smart switch installed in each room. Anyone could suggest me a worthy and reliable brand? Thanks a lot.

Ps: I have neutral.
*
What’s your preference?
Touch, push button type or stick to the current switches at home?

I think they are 433 MHz but I don't have any hubs for it yet... or you mean the M2 Hub does support RF?  hmm.gif
D1 2 gang? or D1 wireless?
*
You use homekit or just aqara app?
If dun want to bother with homeassistant, install homebridge with broadlink plugin

I’m using life smart motor so they do have a HomeKit hub 😁 but since RF it’s quite random at times.
I’m using HomeKit, recently just started with homebridge too. (Trying to figure out Tuya tsk).

Broadlink has RF? Will check it out.

Will test out the RM4 Pro, hopefully it works 😆. Would be nice if that hub has enough range for all fans around the house. Then I can leave the switch always on and use radio for controls instead.
*
Broadlink rm pro is probably the easier option since you don’t need to deal with tuya cloud for tuya remotes

Turning on/off or setting the speed should be no issue. But it’s getting the current status can be a bit problematic.

Hi guys,

Great to see this thread is active and alive. I am planning to get my home renovated and plan to make it a smarthome as much as possible. Switches, curtains, AC, alarm and cctv. Found out that my new house came with Zwave ready.. And via an old (discontinued) model hub and it's connected to the home alarm system. *sigh*. Initial plan is to use all zigbee with HA but now have to put zwave into the mix.

Need advice:
1) I don't think my plugs and switches has neutral lines. Should I get it all neutral-ed (cost issue) or just use non neutral switches? So far in my current test with non neutral is pretty OK.

2) zwave + zigbee... Only way to get them under the same ecosystem is via HA?

Please do share ideas and tips since I'm going to reno.

Thanks.
*
1) if you need to save some $$ can use this no neutral hack from this channel. So far working good for my neutral required wifi/zigbee switches/relay

2) can you verify what’s the z-wave frequency of your device? Since it’s region based and you need z-wave usb stick with the same frequency to pair with other devices

Did you manage to get the FP2? Also, where did you see that it was RM160 without shipping?
*
160 for the tuya ceiling version, not fp2
Works fine if you don’t have fans in the room
No multizone like fp2

Still sceptical to get one since even fans as interference may or may not detect presence properly

I have been using the fp2 for almost 2 weeks, this mmWave occupancy sensor is amazing!

It is multi zone’s detection, can act like multiple motion sensors
It is damn sensitive and accurate to few cm, even you are sleeping and it can sense your respiratory movements
It has very fast response times, once you are entering or leaving the designated zone, it triggers in less than a second
You can configure interference zones for fan, curtains to avoid unintended triggers
It works well in HomeKit, so it can work flawlessly with home assistant

The drawback is it requires usb power, hence, not convenient to place at the best spot

Currently the device available in China and can only pair to China region, and the connection to China is damn slow, the setup of zones requires real time connections to China servers, hence, it is not easy to setup. However, detection is locally run and does not require connection to China servers
*
If your couch or bed right below fan can still detect presence? Since it's right within interference area

I'm curious about the IKEA smart home system. IKEA has its Smart Home app as well.

However, it appears that IKEA Malaysia does not sell the TRÅDFRI gateway or DIRIGERA hub which is the latter is Matter-compatible. They were only available on the IKEA Singapore website.

Worse, TRÅDFRI drivers are usually in short supply!
*
Ikea msia quit selling tradfri smart devices for a few years here while our neighbours get the latest stuff. I think it was just end of last year they resume selling some tradfri and sympfonisk accessories. Got them both so I can use as zigbee remote with HA

You can position the sensor downwards to your couch or bed, the sensor has not-so-wide cover area

Interference zones cannot overlap with detection zones, thus, placement is very crucial to get accurate and sensitive detection, I spent two days to find the best spot
*
Actually how wide does it cover the rooms?
Seems like quite large space from the reviews
No ghosting issue so far

Updated my Apple Home to "new architecture" and ended up all my automation stopped  sweat.gif .

Rebooted everything and it worked fine... btw now that I'm curious... if I want a more advance automation... I can do HA, but still use HomeKit for interface when want to turn on manually?

My set-up now is...

Aqara, LifeSmart --> HomeKit
Kasa, Panasonic, Mi Home --> HomeBridge --> HomeKit

So if I were to do the HA..

Aqara, LifeSmart, Kasa, Panasonic, Mi Home --> HA --> HomeBridge --> HomeKit?
*
With HA, can skip homebridge
HA will expose all those device entities to homekit

Broadlink RM4 Pro arrived, so I tried to pair RF to my fans (which doesn’t have any template unfortunately).

First fan I tried is the Rezo fan, so it kinda worked. These pretty much 1 instruction per button. Except the light when on or off need separate actions.

user posted image

Now for this other type of remote where I can’t even learn the frequency band yet… how to proceed? 😅

user posted image

I tried with my Daikin IR remote also having same issue aiyo 😅

user posted image

And to expose to HomeBridge also not so straight forward (but before that need let it work natively first 🤣)
*
Feels like this might be easier to do on homeassistant with smartir & tasmota irhvac addons.

Daikin IR should be no issue, i have the same brand ac integrated

That fan remote, still can't learn the command with broadlink?

bruce.gif now I'm keen to learn HASS  sweat.gif

Side now some how after trying multiple times finally the thing gotten the frequency... seems I need to do every "state" for those controls. Which will do for now la, since my main thing is to automate so my AC turns on cooling the room down before I go inside.

Now need to figure out how to work with this homebridge plugin...
*
Just give it a try, install on the same device running homebridge

For ir device, I'd recommend getting this
Broadlink's ok since it has official ha integration but you can do more with esp based remote.
