Thanks for the guide previously... Now manage to get HASS with z2m and Google assistant to talk to each other.
Now on to the next part... I'm looking into cctv with frigate on a server and coral connected to HASS. How goes your venture?
I was wondering on getting frigate (server) connected to HASS (on rpi)....can they both be connected via ethernet?
Now to get a server and coral.
Get usb coral and use with rpi, should be enough Unless you plan to add like more than a dozen cameras might need to use secondary device just for frigate Bad news is all coral usb/pcie module is out of stock for the next few months If you have m1 powered macs, can test with the neural processor as temporary replacement
Guys, anyone using zemismart homekit hub? Turns any non homekit zigbee device to homekit compliant Anyone tried pairing with tuya door locks? Don’t see it listed yet in the description
Tuya has not been that forthcoming with lock support for their homeassistant integration. Thinking of getting one if it can work
I'm looking for an infrared to wifi/network device. My ceiling fan is a typical KDK type with basic remote. I want to control it with Android. From my past experience, it can only control on-off. No control of the fan speed which I need most. Can modern devices do that now?
I'm currently using the Smart Life app with my smart switch. Hoping to expand the devices in this eco system.
2 option: 1) wifi & rf control - sonoff ifan03, tuya (if you need see the actual status (on,off, which speed it’s on) 2) ir control - broadlink, xiaomi, tuya (just clone your original remote signal)
I have not reached to your point of....complexity...yet...or won't. But the container idea is good...will test it. I just learning the basics for now...and want to put it into a mini desktop to really simulate how i would want it to run in my new home. so can terus transfer over.
I am currently running my HA in my laptop with VM. always on and off it. i am ok with 24/7 all year desktop on....i used to have a few full tower pc doing that for torrent and as a movie server.
now with mini desktop....power consumption is wayyyy managable. currently eyeing on this...considering the cost of rpi4...this seems to be a more cost effective way. and i will need to run at least minimum 8 cameras.
was thinking about this too...getting a pcie coral is cheaper but the mini desktop with >1 slot cost would be much higher but i guess it's a trade off. Either cheaper coral with more exp desktop or cheaper desktop with usb coral.
performance wise...coral pcie > usb? negligeble?
of course aesthetics wise...internal would be better. but gonna shove all into a rack...
You just need the usb coral if you plan to use with arm board like raspberry. As of now, you can’t even use pcie coral on raspberry pi even with m.2 slot. Something to do with the m.2 only detecting as storage instead of edge tpu
Coral TPU... wow nice stuff where can I buy? the usb one can support how many cam?
Depends on your cpu, object detection processing is just offloaded to the edge tpu. If you add like 8 cam to frigate running on latest i7 and if cpu hovers 30-50% then just keep adding more.
Cant even find Coral USB Accelerator in stock anywhere.
Pro tip, once restocked, buy extra. I ordered 4 pcie version last year when in stock for free shipping and sold the other 2. Kinda regret now haha since i need to add frigate on more devices
Ridiculous how everything out of stock now, last year it was just the usb coral limited edition
I remembered seeing an article mentioning to connect the aircon to a smart plug with WIFI but I can't even see the air con 3 pin plug. Is it hidden somewhere?
These are the old air conditioners at my place right now. I can't see any 3 pin plugs.
Yours daikin? Maybe wanna consider also getting daikin wifi module
Has anyone been using Daikin's wifi AC? Last time I spoke to their sales team, remote control of the AC is only if you have their "pro" subscription. Daikin says they give 2 years free with purchase of your AC. Their pro subscription is RM11.99 a year. https://www.daikin.com.my/smart-control/
Kinda lousy that they would charge for these features when the competition don't.
Kek, got subscription? Was considering to get one but no home assistant support yet for that module
Anyone using this fan pcb for your stand/wall fan to control with remote/broadlink? Did you get the remote fan swing control working? Or need specific model fan for that feature
Hi all, noob here asking basic 101 questions. I'm looking for a smart switch to power my master bedroom lights and I'm already in the Google Home ecosystem, and I'm looking for a gray/brownish color (not white!)
What kind of options do I have? Originally I saw Aqara but they all come in white =(
Tuya got, like this one
Lonsonho ZigBee Smart Switch EU UK 220V Tuya Smart Life Wireless Wall Light Switch Support Zigbee2mqtt Alexa Google Home https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrzhB78
If you need homekit support like the aqara, might need to setup homebridge or just grab zemismart homekit hub
