No neutral no capacitor, can last?

Yes I know, I'm referring to the switch, some here are saying the no neutral no capacitor switches dont last, my wifi no neutral with capacitor switches have lasted me iinm at least 3 to 4 years, all no problems touch wood.

Never changed bro , and Im not very sure on this, but I seem to notice that those lights that I connect capacitor with seems to last longer, as I havent changed the downlights also, or maybe its just random, not sure 

does it mean its impossible to pair a Tuya switch to Aqara hub or they must be both Zigbee 3.0 to be possible?
I'm keen on getting an Aqara camera hub as well but only Tuya/Moes offers a smart dimmer switch...... if not possible to pair together then I have to forget about Aqara and just get a Tuya/Moes hub

I dont plan to get any smart lights, just normal dimmable LED downlight and spot light, and use this Tuya dimmer switch

Seems so far only Tuya offer something like this. Other brands either dont do it or the smart dimmer only works with their own smart lights

I am thinking on settling down on the Xiaomi ecosystem as I already have several devices with them namely:

3x Xiaomi purifiers (global version)
2x Yeelight ceiling light/fan

I will be adding an Aqara Zigbee smart lock, aqara switches, several Aqara motion sensors, a Xiaomi ecosystem/Google home compatible robot vacuum.

1) I understand that China versions of Xiaomi/Aqara products are cheaper than global versions. Will a Xiaomi smart speaker work with a China region Xiaomi app using English voice commands?

* Xiaomi smart speaker is apparently integrated with Google Home

2) My main focus right now is automation/scheduling. Some scenarios below:

- Entering the house via the Aqara smart lock will turn on the Yeelights and fan in my living room.
- Entering rooms will turn on the lights using Aqara motion sensors and switch off when there is no one present
- Yeelights' brightness and colour temperature is adjusted differently according to the time. For eg: Colour temperature of Yeelights would be warmer and brightness lower 7pm onwards if motion sensor is triggered. Vice versa for morning/afternoon.

3) Are there other eco systems offering smart switches/devices as cheap as Aqara/Xiaomi? I was watching this video below where the person mention Samsung Smart Things is a great platform to consolidate all the different platforms together in a single app?

Man I would really hate having so many apps in my phone tbh.


4) Is there a "leave home" profile which triggers when I leave the house via the Aqara smart lock. A pop up or something I can click on my phone? The profile will switch off selected smart devices in the house like the lights/fan/air-con/etc? Which platform offers this? Mijia/Smart things?

Better to be something you need to confirm and not automated because there might be occupants in the house and you don't want all the devices to turn off.

I'd suggest just replace the whole thing. You can easily find the the exact hole size. If you just use an LED bulb and use he existing fixture, the light is really has narrow beam straight down. The complete LED version is not only lighter but the LEDs are mounted close to surface making it light beam even wider. You get mote brightness than with that old type fixture, unless that is not what you prefer. 

Dear sifu, recently I noticed mihome app removed my Siri shortcuts quite often. Based on my observation, it will remove every 4-5 days.

What annoyed me the most is, I need to remove Siri shortcut in iOS first before adding back from mihome.

As far as I know, it was not triggered by iOS update or mihome app updated. I also turn off few lab features in mihome app.

If anyone know the cause of it, would appreciate if you can guide me. Thanks

im using midea (inverter 1.0). seems doesnt have any subscription plan.
im using Midea Air . this is the original app before they make new one.. MSmartHome. i havent try this one yet..

from my experienced, cant fit. our default rear box for switches is very narrow... plus with the switch back board and cables.. surely cant fit... unless u korek the box and wall cement.. 
and also u need N for this devices..

I installed a Sonoff wifi one and recently an Aqara zigbee one, and i would say it really depends on how much space you have there, IMO better to just replace the whole switch instead of using this.

hi guys, right now is there any changes in policy by MIHOME or TUYA.

Becuase i am helping my cousijn to set up his smart home.
i wish to integrate TUYA into MIHOME using the 3rd party integration function available inside MIHOME apps.

But unfortunately, when i try to pair MIHOME & TUYA, it keep have the error "username not found".

any solution sifus？

many seems to avoid smart switches that requires neutral, is it because its hard to pull the neutral wire? or mostly is due to extra costs doing it?

I have a Tuya zigbee sample, tested without curtains, not noisy at all.

I have both TUYA and xiaomi smart curtain.

personally prefer the new 2022 xiaomi robot curtain.   

Hi all, I'm planning for my house renovation and would like to know , if it's the right time to also build-in some smart home features? e.g. voice command, switching on/off stuff remotely and with timer, etc.

Main concern is if there's an open system where devices compatibility is very common. is google home able to be compatible with many devices?

currently i have some xiaomi ecosystem devices (e.g. ip  camera, air purifier, etc.). the link to the china server are lagging, as well as some devices are not meant for outside china use.
