Anyone using RF transmitters here? Is there an easy way to get the RF codes?
I'm using Broadlink via homebridge. If I use Broadlink app directly, they can set the frequency range then it learns quickly. However if I were to use the homebridge app, need to scan frequency... then press the button. For the remotes whereby 1 button means 1 thing is ok...
However I have 2 fans which each speed is set by up and down type... so its quite difficult to get it correctly (a bit similar to aircon remote).

QUOTE(epicure @ Jun 20 2023, 08:30 AM) Tried it last night, no dice. I think Homekit doesnt allow certain categories of devices. Oh well, cant utilize it directly in Homekit, will have to use it via the Tuya App or via dummy switch automations. Speaking about these Tuya hub that is compatible with HomeKit... is there one with BLE support? One of my room uses 11 pcs of Retouch GU10 eyeball... which is using sigmesh and connected to a hub via Wi-Fi I guess. I originally tried to integrate via homebridge, but its cloud control. Then I tried to get the local control keys etc. Did not work. So much I feel like just changing to perhaps yeelight gu10 bulb that supports wi-fi and homekit.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Jun 20 2023, 12:32 PM) Don’t think so No keys since they’re not wifi device it seems There’s a way to control the bt mesh using this, a bit technical https://github.com/dominikberse/homeassistant-bluetooth-meshThen just expose it to homekit Better grab tuya gu10 wifi bulbs, those homekit ones are a bit pricy Actually I was able to get the local key from the Tuya developer platform, but when I tried to configure in Homebridge plugin it doesn't work. Not sure where went wrong though.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Jun 20 2023, 03:21 PM) Maybe can try set automation in tuya app and set it up as scenes in homekit thru homebridge. Not the best choice but looks like doable https://github.com/milo526/homebridge-tuya-...enes-to-homekitThis one uses network control... but this network quite jialat this sigmesh... not very reliable. sometimes detect sometimes don't detect. Using this then can control, but its via cloud. If I control from tuya app, then its local.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Jun 21 2023, 09:39 AM) So it's not really working well with sigmesh Are the retouch gu10 price around rm50 each? That's even more expensive than zigbee/wifi version Any idea what's the chip inside? maybe can do chip swap and install homekit firmware. Assuming the cable inside is long enough you can pull the pcb like this » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I'm controlling the Retouch GU10 via BLE hub (Wi-Fi) so technically can talk to the hub to control just need have local control...

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Jun 21 2023, 04:36 PM) direct ble control seems complicated, involve some sniffing BT commands, then there's tuya's own bt protocol https://community.home-assistant.io/t/contr...ith-ha/286029/2Oh no no... I not doing direct BLE... more like through the BLE hub... I was trying to look for BLE hub with homekit support but so far don't have. Only ada for zigbee.

Only ada for zigbee. Dang... I checked again... "local_key": "", Seems like if BLE even through a hub can't get the local key sigh. (https://www.reddit.com/r/homebridge/comments/pkjwnr/tuya_lights_with_sig_mesh_gateway_have_no_local/) Is it the same for Tuya Zigbee products? Only those with wi-fi able to get local key? QUOTE(dest9116 @ Jun 24 2023, 01:47 PM) Tuya working with matter yet? Is a tuya matter bridge available? Aqara is already working What devices are supporting matter? I sure hope tuya start supporting matter 😅 trying to get it working via offline control with HomeKit.

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Jun 24 2023, 03:06 PM) Not much update from Tuya side about Matter except a few statements and prototype demos... https://support.tuya.com/en/help/_detail/Kcayjdexazty0https://www.tuya.com/news-details/tuya-demo...m-Kc2dfaq06pfdcThe thing about Tuya.... they have so many hardware vendors. Even if they have a working concept ready, it might still take some time for the vendors to pick it up and produce a production version for the public So far I cant find any Tuya Matter hardware available for purchase yet All app supporting matter would be able to control each other? So like any matter enabled will be compatible with HomeKit?

QUOTE(simmarjit @ Jun 26 2023, 01:21 AM) It should, if i am not mistaken you can add it to multiple smart home platforms as well, saw a video with a guy comparing the states of the devices connected via matter to alexa google home and homekit Hopefully, right now trying to get local control of Tuya BLE to my HomeKit. But since they are BLE, there's no local id tsk. Now what I'm doing is just use the Tuya Web HomeBridge, then expose the scenes from Tuya to control

Next project I'm trying to do is to integrate alarm via Paradox Alarm Interface, anyone has experience with this?
I understand that to install PAI, then feed to MQQT, then get it from the MQQT to HASS or whatever control method.

QUOTE(epicure @ Jul 7 2023, 08:56 AM) Hi everyone, I've got quite a few switches paired with my Aqara M1S hub. They've been working perfectly for the past year or so. But recently, for no apparent reason at all, I keep getting no response from random switches in Homekit. When I check the Aqara app, those switches are online. Funny thing is, when I toggle them in the aqara app, they become online again in Homekit. What's happening? I've rebooted the router and the aqara M1S hub after this happens but it still happens randomly. Anyone knows how to solve this ? I do get this once in a while, but rarely and its random switches. I'm guessing the ecosystem is changing the mesh system... cause at times some switches are repeaters and sometimes it is not a repeater.

I tried a Smartrul Wi-Fi GU10 bulb, first impression it flickers at low brightness aiya. I didn't notice the same with Retouch GU10 BLE.

QUOTE(epicure @ Jul 19 2023, 10:15 PM) All tuya homekit hubs are Ethernet only, it seems they can only make them wired. None that wireless. So I have them next to my router and mesh repeaters. Abit of a bummer actually What accessories are you using with the Tuya HomeKit hubs? Does it have full integration? Like for bulbs, colors brightness etc will be properly integrated?

QUOTE(epicure @ Jul 20 2023, 08:47 AM) I basically use light switches, door sensors, temp sensors, zigbee modules (for alarm and staircase 2-way light). I dont have any RGB bulbs at the moment. Thinking of getting some for the garden, but still thinking about it due to range. I would assume it should translate well into homekit, as my sonoff LED strip has full color control in homekit My experience so far all the other brands I'm using, non Tuya integrates well... tapi this Tuya really difficult Trying to do the Tuya LAN control homebridge but am getting UDP errors ah doi, don't know what's wrong.

QUOTE(epicure @ Jul 20 2023, 11:11 AM) I tried TUYA integration via homebridge before. There was a local version and a cloud version. I turned it off later. I didnt like that i needed to use an iOT developer account and keep it active. So the homekit hubs were the best option for me I see, I've been trying to integrate my Tuya items. What I have are BLE GU10 bulbs, which I gave up, I just used the Tuya Web plugin and expose the scenes. So that's how I control those lights... Now that I gotten the Smatrul Wi-Fi to play around... wasn't successful to connect via the Tuya LAN plugin. Sigh. Oh right, I think the IOT dev is just to get the local key, and with local key you then can do local control. But somehow I kept getting UDP errors, not sure is it because I'm hosting my homekit on synology (and not sure if its a docker ._.) But I Don't see the homebridge folder inside the docker.

QUOTE(Kiding @ Jul 20 2023, 12:51 PM) I have few Tuya devices, their quality is not consistent probably due to many vendors in one eco system. Aqara is the most reliable and consistent product I have used. Among aqara, tuya, xiaomi, smartthings, sonoff, Aqara is the most reliable products. Aesthetically their products are also good looking too. Aqara is my main system, all my switches are Aqara. So far pretty reliable.

QUOTE(alucard89 @ Jul 20 2023, 01:09 PM) The flickering issue with smartrul gu10, is it like 1 bulb only or all of them like that? I have gu10 from ewelink and tuya never had those problems. As for the tuya iot, you could just replace the firmware (wifi version) with esphome/openbeken with cloudcutter and use mqtt plugin instead Any guide on how to do this firmware flashing? so if I get it to esphome, I could do native homekit?
