Since it is called motion sensor, then it only detect motion. Sadly also, many infrared sensor is actually motion sensor. These are PIR sensor (Passive Infrared Sensor) where it has 2 IR sensor side by side. Once there is movement, the difference in measurement between the two sensor will trigger the switch which means movement sensor, not detecting body heat.

You need to get an Active Infrared Sensor which detect presence of infrared like body heat.

Got recommendation for that one (active infrared sensor)?

If search Shoppe anything related to IR will come up and even those said Presence Sensor or even Active is actually not actually what they are.

No, I have none to suggest even though I also want one. I have yet to actively look for it. The active one is not dirt cheap like PIR sensor I think  smile.gif
*
Any keywords for it? i tried just googling, but no results though, just the same pir sensor listed
So basically no manufacturer came out yet for the smart active ir because of the high cost?
Do you think this one utilizing active ir also? The specs just list the device using some kind of radar sensing

I think it is cheap also since there is sensor specific for this available now. If you are electronics DIY kind of guy, this will do I think

Will try to look for off shelves maybe later

Looking at the second link, do you have to build multiple units and place them in various section in the room?

Attached Image

Can it cover the range in a room?
First link seems to be focus on direct facing to the sensor

Then you can recommend the link for alucard89  smile.gif

If it can detect breathing then it should work
*
It's the link I posted earlier, that one cost around $80 last i checked.
Only thing is I haven't find any reviews for it, posted on ha forum and nobody has tried it

I was saying, when there’s no neutral wire in the switch box and connect to a no neutral smart switch without putting the capacitor. Isn’t it a must to put capacitor when using a smart switch without neutral?
*
Bro, is it working yet with capacitor installed?
Curious to see if it works as advertised

Better get a tuya zigbee gateway + pir, much faster response than wifi but still can trigger your wifi switch.
*
Also, long battery life with zigbee
My aqara sensors from 2 years ago still going

I got fed up on waiting and since all my house is using aqara ecosystem, what I did was instead of the switches are normal 5 gang, I just joined a few switches for my lights and fans then it becomes back again 3 gang switch  flex.gif

Just have to accept it that 3 gang switches now for automation. Once aqara have come out with their 4 or 5 gang then I’ll open it up and sell the 3 gang switch.
*
So far found this one (all the way to 6 gang), but looks like it's sold out now sad.gif

How noise does it get when closing/opening curtain compared to Tuya robot curtain?

*
No, but it’s got zigbee2mqtt compatibility listed so good enough for me. Still can’t find any other shop selling similar design like hej life does

Yes by Tuya also. Seems Zigbee2MQTT can support Tuya zigbee devices not only this korean barnd.
Tuya
And also Tuya will support HA officially as per botak review below:-

*
Yeah, slowly officially adding their devices yes,
I know some of the ha users are against using their official addon now because still require cloud (local control later) 😅
Smart lock still not much useful entity though (just battery status)

ok will do that
if without neutral, just use Aqara right?
I prefer sonoff because of the price
*
If you're going for aqara, just be sure to have the zigbee hub (xiaomi hub in this case) for pairing
There's also non neutral wifi switches where you just need install capacitor on one of your lights.

some seller say must use Aqara hub (global)
*
Not too sure about that, I’m still using the old xiaomi hub paired with homeassistant for the google/alexa integration

OO just noticed there's a thread like this here. Hi all newbie here. Since MCO at home then explore abit on this topic then found out the tuya/smart life products on shopee biggrin.gif Pretty cheap / interesting and easy to use IMHO. So far I got some switch, curtain, temperature sensor, IR control.

Just wondering anyone using tuya/smart life products to control air conditioning? Seems a little scary for me because air cond on / off is the same button and it's a toggle. Yes can set easy thing like on at 8pm off at 10pm or something but what if suddenly app gila or suddenly 9pm parent decide to off the air cond manually or something. If switch or stuff I can double confirm 1am OFF everything. Air cond cannot because it's a toggle.

Anyone got any experience on this? Thanks
*
Cheapo way someone suggested is to put door sensor, on the flaps
If flaps closed, that means aircon off

How does it work with normal door sensor ?

When the flap is open, then what happen next ?
*
It’s just for status indicator device condition

Example
Turn off ac at 1am
Schedule daily 1am -> condition ac door sensor open -> tuya ir turn off ac
