QUOTE(idoblu @ Sep 24 2018, 08:30 PM) the whole thing is stupid. asking people not to buy for reasons that only applies to himself what about those that dont own any now and looking into getting one? complained that the dot cost 10 pounds more....thats stupid. Its the same price. You cant compare with last years product at today's pricing. It was free too. He should complain why the 3rd gen is not given free. Amazon is a business. They upgrade their products every year. And he called that milking. He dont have to buy anything. Nobody is twisting his arms Think you miss the whole point of his video which is to state HIS OPINIONS. He didn't discourage those who haven't any Echo devices to NOT buy them Which item are the same price? Can point out? Just because they are business doesn't mean you have to agree with their price.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Sep 24 2018, 08:30 PM) Ranting about the smart plug cost so much. He expects it to be priced like china brands lol.....just silly he is butthurt that he bought an echo show and now they released a newer one.... Smart plug that are more expensive - checked Smart plug that has less features (no IFTTT and Google support) - checked Heck, even your Sonoff S20 is better than the Amazon plug. If that is not milking, I don't know what to say. Those who goes and buys it is silly. I also will butthurt if they release a new version with bigger screen for same price

QUOTE(idoblu @ Sep 24 2018, 08:08 PM) isnt the capacitor for fixing light flickering? and cap must be connected between L and N which means cap is connected at the light end not switch side Yes. I'm aware on that capacitor to be used when low power LED light is used (like 5W or below).

QUOTE(idoblu @ Sep 24 2018, 08:18 PM) I found Senzo when was looking for momentary touch switch but it comes dual with normal switch. No standalone. Furthermore, Senzo is expensive for same function as cheap China one and not look that nice either However, I did not check the WiFi side whether need N or not

I have Panasonic fan too. It has remote to on/off and control speed, but if you off power at main switch or during power trip, the fan will spin at high speed when power is back. That was the reason I switch the main switch to touch button where it defaulted to OFF when power is back. I believe the default speed it fix in the the fan control board. Never try to study that Maybe you can buy the wireless switch that can control the speed at the main switch.

Hello all the sifu here, would like to get some help, i just bought a xiaomi smarthome (gateway+temperature+motion+plug+window sensor, i set it up and everything work nicely for 1 day.
The next day after i restart my modem, suddenly all devices shows offline in Mi Home apps (but they are still functioning well), i then try to setup my phone hotspot to be exactly the same name and password as my home wifi, then all devices online again.
After that i turn off my hotspot to let the device connect back to the home wifi, all devices offline again. I am using unifi at home.
Anyone face this problem before?? Any advise? Thanks in advance.

Your gateway got issues with your unifi. Check both.

Thanks in advance. trace back your steps. the gateway must be connected to a 2.4ghz band (if you have a dual band wifi router) - check and see if the 2.4ghz band is on make sure SSID and password is still the same try off on your wifi router again. try off on the gateway This post has been edited by idoblu: Sep 25 2018, 05:13 PM

QUOTE(idoblu @ Sep 25 2018, 06:11 PM) There are many switches that need no N wire. The problem is that finding switch that support direct WiFi with no N wire requirement. Most of the talk here about Sonoff which mostly require N wire. The switch that require no N wire are usually: 1) Just simple ON/OFF switch 2) Switch that support RF remote 433MHz 3) Switch that support zigbee. (Well, you can integrate into WiFi as far as I know). I think there are 1 or 2 product claimed to support WiFi and require no N wire.

This is I believe a 20A switch point like for water heater or in this case water pump. The switch is double pole single throw DPST. See diagram: Normally the pole side is connected to L and N wires. The other connections are to the pump/heater L and N connections. This switch isolate bother L and N wire when in OFF position. This post has been edited by Zot: Sep 26 2018, 08:53 AM
