The switch in your link is a switch that require no N.

Whatever they called it, the anti-flash module shown is actually a capacitor. The name sound more technical and the device must be expensive than saying 60 sen capacitor perhaps  biggrin.gif

I just have a talk with my Zigbee no neutral supplier. He says he don't do wifi no neutral. Don't know how true is it since some of you been using more than a year no issues or this issues only affect Tuya's module.

Jeff:Wifi module's Power consumption is higher than ZIGBEE module

Jeff:许多人为了节省成本,采用增加大电容的方式来解决单火取电的问题,

Jeff:In order to save costs, many people use large capacitors to solve the problem of single-fire power supply.

Jeff:The reverse current of some lamps is very large instantly, and the capacitor is destroyed at once.

This is true. That's why if want to use battery powered sensors, there is no better chip than Zigbee. Probably only Zwave is comparable.

But he is talking about switches which is using AC.

As Fubar20 said, the WiFi module need more power, thus as far as he knew the single wire (no N) WiFi switch has capacitor. I believe the capacitor supplied with the switch is calculated to operate with that switch. So, I wonder why Jeff come with statement In order to save costs, many people use large capacitors to solve the problem of single-fire power supply. The switch should come with capacitor already. I misunderstood something?

Usually lamp especially LED would not have this reverse current. I think he was referring to kick back voltage when switching of inductive load like fan or something with motor. Normally capacitor used has voltage rating of 600V or at least twice the supply voltage.
*
Yes, Jeff did mentioned the Zigbee switches can use for ceiling fan as well.
*This Tuya Zigbee lock look very ugly to me.

i saw this video. seems like no capacitor require. just replace the switch. zigbee require. so in this case, this still allow small current even the light is off??

*
Yes, suggest you go for Zigbee No Neutral but will incur additional Zigbee gateway cost. If you plan to add in sensors later, it's a worthwhile investment.

can recommend which switch using zigbee? with 2-3 gang?

Currently I am using Tuya SCR type, no issue. OTW is magnetic relay. Let me test it out before I recommend to you. Actually, for SCR I have some stocks but limited wired gateway available. I forgot to order the wireless gateway(limit to 50 zigbee devices) to test dry.gif . If anyone using the Tuya wireless zigbee gateway, appreciate if you can comment on it. Thank you.

I tested my new switch last night. Fast pairing with my gateway & Alexa discover it automatically. Only one thing I don't like is when first discovered the device, it's listed in chinese so just need to rename to your own english name. Btw, this is using magnetic relay not SCR.

So was trying to install my aqara switch today. Didnt work.

Understand that the yellow wire is the live wire while the red goes to the switches (L1 and L2) accordingly. Howver they seems to be an extra red wire to the comms of the okd switch which im unsure what it is.

On one of the switches it did blink red for awhile but nothing after that.

Anyone can advice?
*
Do you have a test pen? Or the tracer I posted awhile back? Otherwise, I advised you to get a qualified electrician to do it.

You don't need public IP for Tuya. When I do testing using my phone hotspot also it's working for Tuya.

I bought a Xiaomi air filter, the one with the round black indicator, had so much problems connecting to the app, connected once, then stopped connecting. Tried numerous times finally gave up. So abit wary abt Xiaomi products.

But why so many users still go and buy Xiaomi smart home devices since it's so unstable?  Every now and then can see people saying this device or that device is down or not compatilble due to global & china region.

Theoretically, zigbee is much better architecture compare to z-wave. Although both z-wave and zigbee use mesh networking, the z-wave can go up to 4 hops and limited to 232 total devices compares to no hop limit and 65k devices for zigbee. I guess the z-wave is more expensive due to less popular?
*
I think cost is higher due to having to keep different frequencies inventories for different countries and MY also share frequencies with those countries with low volume. Zigbee is universal so 1 type cater to the whole world.

wanna ask let's say if i install the smart switch without plug in the "capacitor", how it will function? normal on/off still function except no wifi control is it?
*
You only need the capacitor if got issues at least for my Tuya no neutral Zigbee switches. In fact my supplier does not give capacitor any more.

Which brand of smart devices are you using? So far I tested, Broadlink, Geeklink, TIOT, Tuya smart home devices and various brand camera with cloud(P2P) all without issues on my maxshit fibre.
