Always the same location? If you can replicate then easier to diagnose.
I also experienced before. My guest room light came on by itself on two occasions. No automation was set for this light. Can only turn on if I physically press the wall switch or use my smartphone. It’s possible that a button got pressed when my smartphone in my pocket. I dunno. Unless it happens so often and consistently, it’s hard to diagnose
Intermittent problem hard to find root cause. I think it was because fluctuation on voltage. The group of switches that are affected are sharing same L and N loop. The other touch switch not sure affected because it is for ceiling fan which is normally on all the time, using remote to on/off
If he get it from china no brand, yes. Will happen.
I do know such touch switch have some kind of problem very longtime ago. This 1 supplier do ship in to sell and told me have to recall back. There are not stable and sot sot like ghost.
Actually, there are many brand in the UK are also made by same company in China. Looking at switch physically and panel appearance, very similar. They can ask for brand to be printed. This is the OEM business. With minimum order, they can customized product to you specification. Many brands actually use same chip, but maybe some use China cloned chip. This is common in China.
Anyway, I did some experiment. The electrical spark in my ceiling fan speed controller created noise severe enough to cause the touch switches downstairs to trigger. The speed regulator is actually not in good condition. The rotary knob stuck regularly and also make intermittent contact. When I heard the buzzing spark, very likely the touch switch will be triggered. I need to change the regulator.
I have a question. Anybody here use 2 gang 2 way touch switch?
I wanted 1 switch to function like normal 1 way switch and the other one as 2 way switch. Is this possible? I see that the touch switch is using signalling method and it looks like there is only one wire for signalling. So, I wonder if the configuration mentioned possible
Unless you can find a product design by the west and manufacturing in China. Or a reputable brand that produce all this automation product and been long.
Western design usually have the N wire. Many of their electronics forum discussed on using L wire only and many came out with ideas. One guy said that Chinese has been doing this for years . Many think it is not possible
I'm looking into this. Much nicer. No need to install receiver on ceiling like Sonoff
Nothing wrong with diagram. The COM will act as signalling wire to tell the light condition either ON or OFF, thus the next touch would alternate the light state. The question is whether I can make one switch acts as 2 way switch and the other one just like normal ON/OFF switch. I think maybe not. Both have to be 2 way switch.
I asked the seller. As usual they would reply, read description on the page
I have yet to order. Right now I have only a pair of 1 gang 2 way switch.
i hate touch switches - no tactile feeling besides the in-thing now is voice control...."Alexa, increase fan speed".....
Once you have more devices, you have to address each device by name and the command gets longer and longer.
Yes, touch switch has no tact feeling but just tick sounds. At least during power trip my ceiling fan will not run once power back on just because it was OFF using remote. Mine, the default is mid speed on power return.
Another thing is that i don't need to worry on wet hand on bathroom switch. Easy to clean the glass panel where normal one get stained over time
looks like can be done. it seems you need to "set" which key for 2 way. Maybe if you dont do the setting for the other key, it will remain as 1 way? Take a look -
looks like more complicated than smart home switches i thought they only make one kind but different brands.
This kind of switch can control like 1 bulb from 3 different switches. Doing this on normal 2 way switch is more complicated. They are called 3 way switch. The name is confusing.
I wanted to use the switch for two rooms that share one bathroom (actually one side is kitchen and the other side is bedroom). The bathroom light can be switch from from either switch and the other switch should be independent fro kitchen and bedroom.
if you have two sets of 2g2w then you can control two sets of lights on both sides lo. but if one of the set you intend to have 1 way only then the 2 gang on the other switch is waste and does nothing
I need one 1 way and one 2 way switch on single panel because I only have one cavity on the wall. Unfortunately, no one sell this configuration. Mechanical switch, you can customize yourself. The other choice is to have two separate switch which I try to avoid if possible.
can be done la you have to buy 1 set of 2g2w and 1 set of 1g2w you just use one of the gangs of the 2g2w for 1 way switching
the 1g2w only act as a remote controller
The situation is like this. One switch is in the kitchen and the other switch is in bedroom. A sharing bathroom is in between. So, the kitchen need a switch for kitchen light and 2 way switch for bathroom. The bedroom need a switch for itself and the other switch for bathroom.
