sad....sad....sad.... cry.gif

my aqara wall switches installation came to a halt
one of my ceiling lights is connected to some backup Battery/Gen set
For some reason, when I connect my Aqara switch to it, it trips the breaker bangwall.gif

here is the original switch picture - notice the 3 red wires? that is the one bye.gif
the only way I can think of is have an electrician rewire those red wires to another breaker, remove them from the backup circuit. sad.gif

Backup?

That red wire switch to light from backup? To wire the same light on the yellow switch.

i already tried the yellow (which is also Live but normal circuit) it still trip the breaker meaning the red wire to the ceiling lamp itself goes back to backup circuit
take a look at the circuit below - apa special? sigh....sad sad.gif

The yellow 1 is 2 wire or 3?

The red wire, got 2 wire and 1 wire right? 1 wire goes to light I think. 2 wire suppose from breaker + genset?

Yellow got two wires plus one wire loop to next switch
Red got two Live and one to lamp

The red wire switch to where ? And the yellow switch to where?

There is a 10B to switch over by the contactor. Not sure from where the source. And the 2 source from contactor switchover will go to your 1 main only. No separated wiring.

Your source is 3phase?

Why not remove both red and yellow backup and try if it trips?

How does the back up work? Automatic when detected no power?

I used the yellow live also cannot. still trips if the red wire going to lamp is connected to the aqara
the gen set kicks in when no TNB power coming in to the building. it only supply power to a few outlets and this light is one of them...

The magnetic contactor switch over with a time delay.

I understand this looping.

I want to know, the red wire switch to another lamp? Different from the yellow switch lamp is it?

Cause the red wire can represent red phase (11R). While yellow represent another phase (11Y).

Ya, that is the elcb.

How is the Aqara connection look like? Connect wrongly?

Actually I cannot understand why the Red and Yellow color wire seems to come from source independently. Why not just loop the power from the other one at the switch?

Correct me if I'm wrong. When the backup sense no power, it will trip the MCB to open the normal circuit to DB and provide supply from the backup. Is this correct? Therefore, I think this is what happened.

So, in normal condition, when the switch is toggled and there is no power detected by backup supply the MCB will trip to enable backup to supply the power. Unfortunately, the switch with no L connection will trip the MCB because there is very low current flow in normal OFF condition, just enough to power the switch circuit. However, the backup see it as no power because the switch is considered as in ON condition by the backup. Therefore the MCB tripped.

the yellow wire is another light - it works so dont worry about the yellow. yes red and yellow is different light
R11 is the correct breaker for this light

On the Aqara side is very straight forward -
I connect both Red Live to L on the Aqara
Then L1 to the Red wire going to lamp 1
L2 to the Yellow wire going to lamp 2

When it tripped, I removed both Red Live and connect the Yellow Live
Still tripped

Because the Yellow does not go to the Gen Set circuitry. Only that particular Red wire
Btw it does not do any "sensing of no power" at my unit. The sensing is done somewhere else before the Gen Set
No it shouldnt trip but I could be wrong as I never once experience it

Ok. understand the circuit you show.

The circuit you show is only backup circuit. Once change over to backup, it only supply to 2 red wire point which is lamp. And 1 yellow wire wall socket of 13A.

I gave the thought after I wrote those stupid theory and I think it is not right. The backup should sense the incoming power from TNB I think laugh.gif

If not joint L1 and L2 with wire, but just the L, how was it?

Or L is red live and L1 is red to lamp. Leave the L2 empty.
