QUOTE(Zot @ Dec 28 2017, 09:30 AM) The capacitor is connected between the L and N at the location where your load is (i.e. at lamp location for example). It is to provide power to the switch electronics since in off position, there suppose to be no power to the switch. Any reference to the capacitor type/value? limitation?

QUOTE(Zot @ Dec 28 2017, 10:17 AM) I thought it is provided with the switch? So, depends on switch brand I suppose, though probably not much different. Most of the time the switch just work because of voltage leakage in house wiring. So, sometimes the switch just cannot work. That is why the capacitor is provided. The voltage rating would be at least 400V but not sure about the capacitor value. Probably around 0.47uF to 1uF? Anyone remember on top of one's head? I got few capacitor from RF wall switch. That's one not required Neutral pin. I think it's for use with led bulb. Never needed for me. 1st time I read can use capacitor to replace Neutral wire. Maybe will try with my sonoff later. Cant decided yet where to put the switch.

Regarding the capacitor, do we talking about the same thing? I read alucard89 said you can use capacitor instead of neutral wire in the switch that required both Live and neutral wire like Sonoff T1? But the diagram is showing different thing.. I understand the diagram to allow the use of low wattage bulb. This is not the same thing, replacing neutral wire with capacitor right? This is sonoff T1. If you got aircond/water heater switch there will be neutral there.. But if light only don't have.

QUOTE(ular_king @ Dec 28 2017, 07:01 PM) Don't think i will automate those now...only considering lights. Aircond i could use Broadlink RM pro to turn it on if i want to... I mean you can take the Neutral from the aircond switch. My home all room got aircond switch beside light.. Bathroom got water heater switch.. Only living and kitchen got light only..

QUOTE(alexander3133 @ Jan 3 2018, 08:27 AM) Guys, any of the power consumption monitor device that you would recommend? Prefer socket type, like Sonoff S31, but UK plug, would like to monitor refrigerator power consumption. Broadlink, Tplink, sonoff. Sonoff and broadlink got daily graph.. Tplink just stat like today, past 7 days, past 30 days.. But App Tplink most clean and look professional.

QUOTE(idoblu @ Jan 10 2018, 12:30 PM) sad....sad....sad.... my aqara wall switches installation came to a halt one of my ceiling lights is connected to some backup Battery/Gen set For some reason, when I connect my Aqara switch to it, it trips the breaker here is the original switch picture - notice the 3 red wires? that is the one the only way I can think of is have an electrician rewire those red wires to another breaker, remove them from the backup circuit. The yellow 1 is 2 wire or 3? The red wire, got 2 wire and 1 wire right? 1 wire goes to light I think. 2 wire suppose from breaker + genset?

QUOTE(idoblu @ Jan 11 2018, 11:02 AM) todays installation at another room went without a hitch except that somehow it didnt fit the hole very well. strange that no big chunks of plaster had broken off but dunno why now there is a big gap. Sigh, I need to patch it later. This Aqara unit was the one tripping yesterday. So its not the Aqara problem but my wiring Original Vivace switch [attachmentid=9501566] Aqara Switch [attachmentid=9501592] [attachmentid=9501603] No black plactic box inside the wall? Direct cement?

QUOTE(idoblu @ Jan 18 2018, 11:12 AM) ozak Zot weikee okay must summon all the big sifus this is really weird. 1. proceed the install the newly arrived switches 2. put in just Live red wire and L1 to to Red wired lamp = okay didnt trip 3. put in L2 to Yellow wired lamp = trips The other day I put in Yellow side on its own, it didnt trip Original Switch - 2 Gang Switch. One Red Live One Yellow Live (different circuits) Aqara Switch - has only 1 input for Live so I can only use either Red or Yellow Red goes to a backup service in case of no electricity Red ELCB tripping. What should I try now? Yellow wire you try both? 1 should be from the DB, 1 to the Lamp.. or if use yellow live, instead of red how? live yellow.. L1 to yellow lamp.. test 1st.. then replace L1 with red lamp.. test.. if ok try connect both to L1 and L2.

QUOTE(luvox @ Jan 23 2018, 09:15 AM) This is what i mean very earlier post. Even u hv aircon switch beside ur light switch, does not mean the neutral wire can straight forward take from there. Light & aircon circuit if different phase at DB box will cause the RCCB to trip, coz detected as leak current. I abdondon neutral line & use single live wire RF wall switch until it fail only may consider aqara. Another way is rewire ur DB box but dont DIY & get electrocuted I able to use neutral from the aircond switch. My house is single phase.

QUOTE(luvox @ Jan 23 2018, 09:21 AM) Lucky u. Mayb new house nowaways use different RCCB for 16A circuit & 10A Maybe the usage is too small to detect? Not really sure how RCCB working or house wiring.. Hopefully nothing harm in long term.. What I understand all neutral goes to same place in DB. OK, after reading about RCCB.. As long as the current from live wire and out to neutral wire is the same than it will not trip..

QUOTE(luvox @ Jan 23 2018, 09:44 AM) [attachmentid=9536467] I bought from taobao small network cabinet around rm 100, not include shipping fees, add on USB powered RGB strip (can change color) to make it more dramatic. 😂 inside is unifi modem & raspberry pi. Echo dot on top A bit strange seeing that level.. Usually network switch cabinet will be all the way up near the ceiling.

QUOTE(Zot @ Jan 23 2018, 10:50 AM) You need yours to trip once a day? Just to make sure it's OK to take neutral from the aircond switch. If it's should trip but it's not then something wrong also, need to find the reason.. Because got mix result. Some said ok some said cannot.

QUOTE(Zot @ Jan 25 2018, 04:28 PM) So the switch itself is remote device and the receiver is located at the lighting point? This way no need to worry about the N wire then  Erk.. that’s for remote device. Receiver / main switch is something like this. Replace wall switch.
