Test control by using handphone. (zigbee version)
My house got no internet yet. Juz started the renovation.

You can hotspot the mobile signal to a zigbee wifi gateway & test it out with other zigbee devices. Last time need 2 phones when I last tested but maybe now no need. You can test that out using the phone providing internet to be sure.

Hmm... sounds complicated, but will try. Btw, I bought a zigbee hub without phone cable port/wifi, can i still control the switch (zigbee version) when im outside?
I planning to get smart door lock (zigbee) and door sensor (zigbee) some day, will they send notification to me while im outside when someone opened the door?

Not much update from Tuya side about Matter except a few statements and prototype demos...

https://support.tuya.com/en/help/_detail/Kcayjdexazty0

https://www.tuya.com/news-details/tuya-demo...m-Kc2dfaq06pfdc

The thing about Tuya.... they have so many hardware vendors. Even if they have a working concept ready, it might still take some time for the vendors to pick it up and produce a production version for the public

So far I cant find any Tuya Matter hardware available for purchase yet

If your zigbee gateway no RJ45 port then it's wifi can control externally as long as connected to your home internet.

All app supporting matter would be able to control each other?

So like any matter enabled will be compatible with HomeKit?

It should, if i am not mistaken you can add it to multiple smart home platforms as well, saw a video with a guy comparing the states of the devices connected via matter to alexa google home and homekit

Hopefully, right now trying to get local control of Tuya BLE to my HomeKit. But since they are BLE, there's no local id tsk.

Now what I'm doing is just use the Tuya Web HomeBridge, then expose the scenes from Tuya to control sweat.gif

remaining probably mmwave sensors
either the expensive one like fp2 with multizone or just cheaper ones by tuya (make sure no fans in the area)
*
That's true. Will wait for a ceiling mounted one to be available. I've seen the ceiling ones by tuya but not sure if they're worth installing. And now I'm not sure if they will turn up in homekit or not after my siren didn't show up

i have the m2 hub but without a google nest which is needed to connect as matter.
from what i saw from google home, only the sensor (china version) were shown, not sure about the aqara D switch (china version) i had.

No plan to invest a google device before confirm it can be used.

appreciate if anyone can share their experience.

Oh I assumed you have a matter updated Aqara hub paired with a Matter Hub . Without the matter hub (Alexa / Google nest or Apple Homepod) , it won't work.

My nest minis have been updated to matter based on the firmware number. Just haven't hopped on board the matter architecture for Homekit yet.

Quite disappointed in the options for recessed downlights for Apple Homekit; wanted tunable white (not RGB) with bright enough wattage but it looks like we can only choose between Garnea Hue (max 10.5w with 900 lumens) or Zemismart (but no Zigbee).

Can any sifu recommend other good recessed downlights that can pair with apple homekit?

Zemismart is probably available here, but I'm slightly confused if it can operate with Zigbee other than Wi-Fi. Would it work if I get the Zemismart Homekit Hub?

That would be a good alternative since you can add any zigbee device (as long itโ€™s listed in the zemismart compatible list)
Other than surveying for more homekit lights or converting any tuya downlight with native homekit firmware.

Actually you can add any ZigBee 3.0 device it will accept it. Not limited to the list. Except the sonoff s26, couldn't get that to work. All my other non Zemismart tuya zigbee 3.0 devices from other generic brands work
