Depends on what you want to achieve.
You can set a schedule on the app and then delete the app.
The schedule will on or off the devices without your interaction.
Yes, must have internet connection if the devices depend on the cloud.

thanks, meaning after setting up all the scene/timer/criteria, i don't need the apps anymore and the programming had been in-built into the system. do i understand correctly?

I planned to install xiaomi home alarm system, and hope to add a normal autogate remote control to on/ off the alarm. can any sifu here teach me how to do so?

Thinking of getting the sonoff 433hz receiver and pair with the remote control. then use the app to link with mi app.
is this idea workable?

if your whole house using wifi based bulbs and switches then mati loh....hahaha laugh.gif
just last week, i woke up at around 1.30am because my bedroom lights were still on. My wifi bulbs didnt turn off on their own as per scheduled.
i use phone to off also cannot. I thought my Internet or Wifi down, but I was able to surf Lowyat forum.
then i check my LIFX bulb's server down or not but cannot enter their website.
Long story short, finally i found out that my wifi was down. I cant even enter my router's setting to reboot. Strangely I can still surf lowyat forum.
Niamah, had to get out from bed and Off On the router.

The next day, I tried looking for a device that can reboot my router when it detects the Internet is down.
*
mind to share which device you got that will reboot ?

I think this is not something specific.

The smart switch with no N has maximum total load. So, if total load cannot exceed this max. Maybe this is the reason. If the switch require N, no such restriction.
*
thanks, will get switch with N.

if blackout happened, what would my smart switch do? by default will be in off status? or in the status before the blackout happened?

Thank you

another question from me (sorry for my dumbness).
If i connect the xiaomi home security and sonoff switch with google home assistant, can i set up scene like when i open door (door sensor from xiaomi home sense it was opened), then my sonoff switch turn on my light and fan in the living hall.

is this possible to control both system under google home?

thanks

No you cannot, at least not natively
If you are already using Xiaomi, why not just use Xiaomi to do all that?
*
hi, cause sonoff switch using ewelink while xiaomi home security use another app. correct me if i were wrong.
so i need to link 2 system together, right?

I was just joking but yes need that sensor, thus there is not need for the trigger when opening door then. It becomes redundant.

Opening door trigger, the system need to know you are entering or leaving the house  biggrin.gif

can i set
1) off home alarm
2) door open (after 7pm)
3) light and fan on

is the above step possible to set as scene?
so meaning i can combine different system under google home?

thinking of using sonoff 433hz sensor. so that i can use remote control to on and off mi home security.

by linking the remote control with sonoff, press on button, then mi home alarm on. then do the vise versa to off it.

possible?

and even link it with other 3rd party wireless speaker to trigger louder alarm.

Can, under Home Assistant provided your home alarm, door sensor and light and fan switches can connect to it.
*
thanks.

initially thought i can't combine and start thinking to setting home alarm using sonoff sensor. but too troublesome and without a hub to control.

It’s two different system so if you want connect them together you will need another system to bridge them
What I meant is if you are using Xiaomi door sensor to trigger, why not use Xiaomi to switch on the lights as well?
*
cause thinking to use sonoff smart switch to control lights and fans.

so google home can bridge them, am i correct?
