Heh, wrong autocorrect

So it's just ir blaster like broadlink or harmony
I thought you can get other stats like current temperature/fan speed etc

yup, there is temperature

yesterday tried, end up still revert back to ha bridge

for individual devices, alexa was ok, but slow
the aircon took like almost 5 seconds to respond after alexa announce the device isnt responding
and for grouping items, eg : fan + light a + light b , couldnt really get it to work as the response was too slow, only the fan was responsive because it was using harmony instead of vera

How does vera get temp input from the aircon remote?
So you went back to ha-bridge? I guess vera need to improve their alexa skill

I've seen cheaper ones from china, like this one

http://detail.m.tmall.com/item.htm?id=5470...739&toSite=main

But I'm more worried about the doorbell itself stolen/vandalised sweat.gif

Really? Which aircon model do you have?
Also, you can ask alexa to set at specific temperature instead of just increase/decrease temp?

i am starting to research whether to implement smart home appliances to my future house.

This is the list of items which i think of:-
- centralized hub
- light bulbs
- sensors (like motion sensor for night time)

what are the other things that possible to integrate in?

and out of hundred or thousands of brands out there, which are the recommended ones?
i can think of xiaomi/google/ or those taht support IFTTT will be the bets

-centralized hub
Go for smartthings or raspberry pi running homeassistant

-lights
There's sonoff b1 which is a cheper alternative to philips and got nice build

-sensors
Zigbee like xiaomi gateway alarm set or cheaper setup with 433mhz transmitter and use with any generic PIR/motion sensor

The first one I bought was ok. The second one I didn’t buy back from the same seller as I kiamsiap chose a cheaper one sold by another seller. The description says UK and the photo was correct so I bought. Anyway didn’t ask for sv. They asked me to keep it and will refund so I leave it as that 😅

I believe most of them naik harga for this item. The one that sent me wrong was 4x also but check back they now priced it at 6x. I found cheaper ones at Shopee so might try there
