Just got a Google Home but have not had the time to set it up yet.

Also saw Nest (another Google related company) recently launched some products for home security and it looks quite interesting though the prices are not cheap. Anyone has any experience using Nest products in Malaysia? What are the limitations in your experience if you've used Nest products before.

Only seen some of their products sold on Lazada, not sure where else has them available.

Purchased the XiaoMi/Mi Jia smart home system.
Bought the main multi-functional unit and door/window magnetic switch, initially just for testing purposes as home alarm system.

Mana tahu I fell in love with their smart home system. Maybe other brand also has functionality close to XiaoMi, but I choose Xiaomi at first because of the cost.

Was dilemma between Panasonic and Xiaomi smart home system, but the Panasonic one price set me off, so I bought Xiaomi system to test out if able to use in Malaysia. It does.

Yes. It needs universal IR device like broadlink RM Pro to bridge with Alexa. IR device can give any command on ur aircon remote control.

Yeah I agree with u. I started off with xiaomi too due to the much lower price. Bought the starter pack and has now got another few sensors & xiaofang cameras. For it’s price I think it’s really worth it.

Your IR device is preset code& cant learn new IR control? Broadlink rm pro can learn any new IR code from remote control.

any xiaomi users here having the gen. 3 gateway suitable to control the air-cond unit?
would like to know whether their IR signal is suitable for local air cond brands such as Panasonic.

There's a gen 3 now?

Don't think it is 3rd gen gateway. Xiaomi's Aqara do have the same product before.

sorry for the confusion. By gen.3, i was actually referring to the square gateway from Aqara. This term "gen. 3" was commonly used on other home automation forums.

i am thinking of investing in that model if it can support Panasonic air cond which i currently use.

The App is Apple Home.

Hardware you can choose from:

Option 1
Broadlink + Apple Homebridge

Option 2
LifeSmart Hub + LifeSmart SPOT
