From the report I cant blame Skrtel, it seems that the contract that he going to sign needs him to play up to 80% of the Liverpool games to entitle that salary which he think is an insult to him.

There were no value stated so we know if he is being greedy or not.

so now, not only we couldn't sign quality players, we are chasing away existing one. really good job from fsg and br.

Ill give Skrtel the benefit of the doubt so I'll side him on this. God damn Yanks keep fukkin up time after time.

I won't be surprised if we sign Ashley fukkin Williams this transfer window.

He got all the character that Wodgers need in the team.

I don't think anyone would like to sign such a contract, as what if BR decided to bench him that resulted less than 80%?
Somemore, some injury are not predictable, clash of head during matches etc and Skrtel injury record seems pretty ok across.

Skrtel has been serving the club so long, the club shouldn't treat a long term serving player like that.
Somemore he is integral part of starting XI.

If it is about clean sheet bonus, still acceptable.

After seemingly being knocked back by Christian Benteke and Alexandre Lacazette, Liverpool's aim to sign a new striker looks to have moved further afield.

Spanish paper AS reports that Brendan Rodgers is interested in Real Madrid striker Denis Cheryshev.

The Russian striker has been at the Bernabeu for years, but is yet to feature for Real Madrid's first team. Instead, he scored four times for Villarreal last season when on a season-long loan. That's not hugely encouraging, but in fairness he did play as a left winger for most of the season.

Cheryshev is now 24, and AS say he is available for a fee of around €15m.

QUOTE
Perez is happy to see Benitez take charge and he said: "He arrived at Real at the age of 13 and now he has the opportunity to coach the first team. During nine years, he has coached different teams of Real Madrid."

"There is no one better than you," he said to his new coach. "To know what we represent and what we want. Your heart is Madridista."

Benitez has been one of the biggest coaching names in football for more than a decade.

He led Valencia to two Primera Division titles, back-to-back appearances in Champions League finals and a UEFA Cup crown.

He also steered Liverpool to Champions League glory in 2005, where his team staged a major comeback in the final to stun an Ancelotti-led AC Milan.

Benitez won the FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup while at Liverpool.

The veteran coached Inter Milan in 2010 but was sacked three months into the Serie A season.

He also led Chelsea to the Europa League title in the 2012-13 campaign before joining Napoli.

"He is one of the best coaches in the world," Perez said. "A coach that demands the best from his players.

"A coach with a lot of international experience and a great CV."

the comments itself speaks volumes. no doubt the haters will continue to take pot shots, typical. I suppose only the knowing ones understands.

Since rafa is now at RMadrid, is there any chance he can help us to land some of our previous targets like benzema/Isco? like how he gave us sturridge and coutinho... His intention to bring sterling over to RM is doing us a favour by not to strengthen our bpl rivals, but I do not wish to see that lucky little greedy prick $terling materialize a move to the best club in the world...

couple of things will happen this summer buys.

Liverpools priority is get rid of players that doesn't play rodgers brand of football (despite rodger himself thought they could)

borini, apas,(what they are still under contract at liverpoolfc??) coates, maybe balo (should they get a decent offer), etc

LFc needs a 'real' striker (they might confuse themselves, hence the 'Madrid striker Denis Cheryshev' link)

..but thats is probably seriously what lfc can offer (player wage structure) given that liverpool is likely looking to cash in on want away sterling.

We all know madrid's priority is the goalkeeper and could have Keylor Navas thrown in return for any deal that sees David De Gea going there.

settle that then maybe some strength in other departments. rafa isn't sloppy to know where & which department is weak

Rafa will do well with Madrid. Mark my words.

this is a several comments i have seen on ancelotti's real madridfc.

QUOTE
I watched the recent Espanyol vs Madrid match live and what struck me was the appalling attitude of the Madrid players, they were still (barely) in a title race but they wandered around the pitch berating each other, not moving for a ball that wasn't inch perfect, no effort to close down in midfield or defense, just waiting on a mistake from the opposition.

There were literally 2 of their players putting any effort in. The fact they still won the game 4-1 is extremely damning for Espanyol, rather than a sign of Real being anything special. With the players they have, and the shape they are in, they should be smashing these teams off the park. They just seem content to do the minimum though. I'd love and hate to be manager of Real, I have no idea how the hell you would manage all them egos and I imagine the changing room to be toxic.

for all their incredible strength of players, it was the laid back style of carlo that allowed these to creep in. I'm not saying rafa will not lose some of the players support, every team has a certain degree of players where it might not gel.

Real madrid needs some disciplinary within, Perez couldn't have gotten a better manager to help halt that from being cancerous (laid back). Rafa as we know goes thru with a fine comb on things & it can irks some carefree players. For others where perfection, & the desire to be worlds best isn't just enough, I think rafa can help inject it more at Real.

Not even Mou can stick with RM for more than 5 years. You think RB is better than Mou? 3 years contract he got from RM, first year he will under huge pressure already coz his rivally is Barca. Wishing him luck nonetheless.

David Luiz reached his peak at Chelsea under Rafa but Mourinho was the one who took the credit for his 50 mil transfer.
