My solution is just maintain the battery water level frequently, and change it on 18 months to 24 months basic.. so , do i care about 24 months warranty since we need to change it exactly on a 24 months basic ??

Very hardworking of you, viper-z! The conventional batteries suit you more then - it lasts way longer and not to mention, cheaper too.

Well, if our secondary testings go well, we are looking for the 24 month warranty battery to hit 30-36 months on the very average car in Malaysia. We'll see how it goes smile.gif

im only buy battery with indicator.(weak current&water indicator).not popular brand but good.
*
Yup, we like the indicator too. That's one of the reasons why we chose the AtlasBX as our recommended brand when we started. What car battery are you using?

how frequent you drive = everyday
where you park your car = open car park
what car = perodua viva & alza

Wah open car park! That might be one of the biggest reason it's failing so fast. But it's okay la, change once every 1.5 years.

Typically car batteries would be taxable under GST. Depends if your service provider is GST registered or not.

I heard most of the registered one will be compound... if their trade volume is exceeding 500K ?

FB is a great battery! Really popular in Thailand. Most of the Honda cars here come fitted with those FB batteries too. We like & approve!

I am using Bosch Maintenance Free (NS40). I have been using it 16 months whereas my previous Yokohama normally can last for 12 months only.

The Bosch battery has an indicator, which makes life easy for me, as it gives me an idea when the battery is going to go kaaput.

Yeap, Bosch is a solid brand. It seems different brands of batteries do suit different people. Some peoples' Yokohama last 18-24 months, some only 12. Real weird this battery life.. so mysterious.
Would you be interested in a 24 month warranty battery?

It could be due to different driving habits like frequent short trips which would cause batteries to go flat or to be chronically in an undercharged state which would reduce its lifespan. I use a smart charger to top off the battery every now and then to keep it nearly full and it lasts a long time. Or it could be excess heat from long idling in traffic jams cooking the battery for people who cannot normally avoid jams.
2 years is too short for me to make the extra cost worthwhile.

Really appreciate the feedback imbibug. Thanks!
How long would the warranty need to be to make the extra cost worthwhile?

usually we go for cheaper batteries. 1 year warranty is sufficient.

I like how you know exactly how long you have had your battery. Very impressive!

The batteries we mainly stock up now are Atlas BX and GP MF Gold and Platinum.

Why we stock up Atlas BX is because GP and Atlas had a collaboration once and the quality of the batteries were superb. So when GP pulled out to make its own batteries, we decided to source for the Atlas BX for our customers. The Atlas has been really reliable to a lot of our customers and during our testing stage, there were no major issues at all.

Why don't you drop by our site, www.thebatteryshop.my, and have a look at the specifications, if you think you are comfortable with it and are keen to give us a try, sign up and order online, that way you get to enjoy a RM20 discount as well. Our price includes free delivery and installation around Klang Valley area.
