1. Preferred Brand : Any
2. Budget : 2.5k, might be able to expand to 3k if the upgrades are worthy enough
3. Usage : Study, heavy word docs, occasional sims 4 and goat simulator
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : 14", blue variant colour is sort of a must, cd drive and quite light to travel around campus.

Currently planning to buy my laptop at karamunsing, if theres a good deal online, might as well have it delivered if the prices are that big.

Thank you very much biggrin.gif

Dell Inspiron 7548T nod.gif this is can add in your list. have 2 version (that is i7 version)

that lenovo and probook, not sure available in malaysia or not. seems 15" thinkpad is not for malaysian market. unless you willing buy from singapore. but dont think its a good choice as RM is very weak.

image processing software usage, i suggest u go for i7.
hybrid hard disk / ssd, its better go for ssd...

if you want consider 14", then,
Lenovo U41-70 Ultrabook 14” FHD , i7-5500U , 4GB , 256GB SSD , N16V-GM 2G , W8.1 : RM3100/-
since your budget is not a prob, can use some money to add up the ram

pls do check the review too ya..

sshd = hybrid

sshd - solid state hybrid drive.. so... its hybrid storage laugh.gif but it does not give ssd-like performance..

compare those 2... yoga have much better screen because it comes with IPS display. but in terms of storage, u41 is better.

yes.. u41 is available. since you using it for photoshop, editing video, i think its better you go for i7 series. u41 is good deal too... if have remaining money, upgrade the ram. nod.gif plus ssd is a bonus. if you have a lots of things.. can use external hard disk to save movies or any other things.. 256gb is not that much. so mostly your work will consume a lots of space. external hard disk will help you manage your file

Hello brothers and sisters,
I'm in need of help to look for some laptops with details below for my sister who's heading abroad for studies:

Preffered Brand(s)
Any. As long as it is not difficult to maintain or get parts oversea (Taiwan).

Budget
Around 2,000. Preferably not over 2,300. Anything between 2,301-2,499 only will be considered if it is very worthwhile and valuable in serving the needs.

Usage
- Web browsing, Entertainment (movies and songs streaming), light gaming.
- Research based tasks that requires Excel, Word and related accounting softwares.
- Dedicated art works hobbies that uses Photoshop, Illustrator, Bamboo drawing pad

Preferred Screen Size
Portability, storage size and battery life to be considered as it would be brought along places.

Hope professionals here would able to recommend some models for consideration. Thanks!!

Thanks for responding

The 15.6" screen is kindda a must. The inspiron 7548 is really appealing.

I have two concerns though :
1- I wounder how much they would cost nowadays
2- How are they in terms of durability, I am planning to make it a long-term investment

Thank you again smile.gif

*try check with lenovo, either they provide international warranty or not.

the only not covered international warranty as they stated are

*Please take note that all IdeaCentre, Desktop Lenovo Series, 3000 Series, SmartPhones and Tablets are not covered by IWS

else look at this
Asus K401LB- FA003H 14" , i5-5200U , 4GB , 1TB , GT940 2GB , 1.65 kg , W8.1 : RM2499+/-

please check the review of the notebook you want to buy to avoid problems in the future.
if you think want to buy in taiwan, as RM still better standing than NTD(taiwan dollar), then might be worth to buy in taiwan. as anything happen, easy to solve.

feel free to ask biggrin.gif
