it might not apply for the later batches of satan btw.

in my case, used a month and it just decided to fail on me.

When I get my board which supposedly copies faceU, I was unable to get into bootloader mode to flash my board to the latest firmware. So I've used the old avr way to flash it via arduino.

almost a month later, it just doesn't detect. just doesn't detect. avr doesn't even detect the existence of the board. so i thrown the board away into the dustbin and never look into china pcb again.

Come bro, let's make a Custom MKB.  thumbup.gif
AFAIK, RM 500(more or less) should able to get everything done if you're taking parts from Taobao.
Gateron 87 Switches(RM 60-80), PCB + Controller(RM 100+), Plate(RM 50-100), Keyboard Housings/Casing(RM 100-200), USB Cable(RM 30+-), Keycaps(RM 100).

Yeah, a guy also PMed me on GH complaining about his Satan60 that was bought some time ago which also failed. I'm not sure if my edition still has the flaws, but I've flashed more than 30 versions of my firmware into it with no signs of having any problems.

That as it may be, I'm actually really looking forward to the AKB96 instead due to it using an Arduino controller, which will free us from controller based issues and problems.

As a side note, I've re-discovered my Teensy controller boards (I have 2 spares) that I was planning on using to create my custom 60+, so at this point I might be interested in making a purely customized layout instead.

I have one to spare...

I have still to find a laser cutter who is willing to help me do small runs. Might have to resort to china already... I think the smart68 is supposed to use carbon fiber, but I suggest using steel plate and then placing foam underneath. That way you have a heavy plate for stability and eliminate vibration and shock. Best of both worlds.

By steel plate you mean the bottom layer of the casing? Im looking at doing a steel plate at the bottom, then stack it up with carbon fiber. Thinking of using carbon fiber for that plate between the keycaps and the pcb board. But pcb board a bit hard. Was watching them hardwire they keyboard instead. What do you thing?

Apparently theres one in sungai buloh. Sc tech or something.
